Compliments… :bowd:
Kind regards,
Eagleeyes
Thank you Eagleeyes !
I notice the thread title changed…how about cover A and C model?
Honestly, I do not have any intention on doing F-104 A or C. My first goal is to focus on Eiko (F-104J/DJ). Then, I will achieve a limited number of variants, with the least modification as possible. As far as I know, there is a lot of differences between F-104C and J/DJ : refuel drogue (not a lot of work though), engine is different, aircraft geometry is different (tail and rudder for exemple)… GE-J79-3 for F-104A; GE-J79-7 for F-104C, GE-J79-IHI-11A for F-104J/DJ (JASDF and ROCAF), GE-J79-11A for F-104G and S… This implies new nozzles, and new flight models. Also, this F-104 is designed to be a stock aircraft. I will not consider too much variants. F-14J/DJ/S and G is clearly enough, in my opinion. Also, F-104A and C had never flew in the F-16 era. I intend the latest to have flows Starfighter versions.
Great
I am curious about tanks light system
This is a point, I haven’t thought about yet, to tel you the truth. But there will be a solution.
Thank you, Toro!

Hello,
Today, was not so productive. I spent almost my day trying to solve some unsolvable unwrapping issues… Then, I wanted to start seriously texturing today, but I couldn’t have, because of a major issue on both gear legs, and on ejection seats. Normals are ok, no uvw overlay… I have to go on searching.
Anyway, here is one ground picture of Eiko. You can see serials are all different.
Best regards,

Bloody “Narf!”, dude: whose kid could I offer to have to get a version that could be imported into FF?
Way cool, model. Excellent choice of subject-matter and a two-seater to boot!

Could you explain, I don’t understand… What is FF?

Thank you! I understand the subliminal message, but don’t expect too much!

Hello!
Happy new year!
I’d like to start this year nicely, with some updates of my F-104 which seems to hold people interest.
It’s still far from being acceptable. I had a very hard time with my render to texture, but I kinda enforced the process with some homemade override protocols… Finally, it worked. Baremetal textures are not here, already. What you see now is a simple grey texture, with some base RTT reflection. I will use some photo samples of baremetal panels, to render something as close as possible to the real 栄光 「Eiko」 (Japanese Starfighter).
I hope you will like it, keep tuned!
Best regards,
Best wishes for 2017,

good progress, Radium
Thank you Dema,
I want to express my big thanks, for your kind help for allowing BMS to use your texture file for this F-104DJ.
As you see, I started to deploy your structure lines and rivets on Eiko. Everything work well. I also had a hard time to recreate a nice bare metal effect, which is always extremely difficult. But, I think it starts to have a nice effect.
Soon, I will send a test package to you and to my friend PeCa_Chuck. I hope, you will like the work for which you gave me your confidence.
Keep tuned,
Radium

It’s always a beautiful show to see that airplane in the sky for me, I don’t know if it’s helpful a simple psd if you work on vectors, I am completly ignorant about vectors “building”.
For metal effect yes, pretty hard in falcon to see that effect, don’t know if you can extract a sort of ambient occlusion effect from your 3d model program you’re using, could be an help.
I’ll be happy to test your excellent work, once again.Cheers !

Hello,
Thank you for your kind words!
How do I work? I just extracted a .png file from your base rivets and structure line layer. Then, I cut parts by parts and aligned it on my uvw template. Then, as I did several render to texture layers with diffrent parameters, I have a basic global illumination map, which I arranged to match F-104. This works pretty well. I am really happy as I solved a lot of issues with her, now, it’s just a matter of time to get Eiko finished. I am rather confident to finish the bir before the 26th of jaunary. Maybe earlier. It will depend if I can get a work fury time. This happens. It may happen that at 21.00, I mentally decide to finish the work before the morning 7.00. Then, I prepare some tea, put my work fury playlist, with some J-Core, Fripside, Hayashibara Megumi, May’n, Nakajima Megumi… And when I need to speed up, I switch to Tsukasa - Acceleratror… This makes me improve by work rythm!
One special livery I will include, for your information!

Great work! If this magic thing gets a cockpit I will reinstall BMS only to fly Starfighter. This looks very well!

Hee hee…
You haven’t changed a bit since FF…

Absolutely amazing. Will it have HP on the wingtips, or will tanks be “permanently” mounted?

Hello, little evening WIP!
I wanted to share the cockpit work. Right side does not have yet much bare metal effects compared to left side.
Great work! If this magic thing gets a cockpit I will reinstall BMS only to fly Starfighter. This looks very well!
I am honored to hear so!

I answered it before, it will be separated, as JASDF used AIM-9B on wingtips on their Eiko.
Best and kind regards,
Radium

Hello!
Eiko just gained her beautiful bare metal robe!
Hope you will like it,
It was tough to render bare metal accurately.
Kinky yours,
