Trouble with FaceTrack Noir
-
Hi all, I recently purchased a delan clip. This is my first experience with headtracking. I followed all of the installation steps, and everything seems to be working properly, except when try to enable IR tracking in BMS, the buttons don’t click. I’ve made sure that it starts a dummy TrackIR.exe and followed all of the trouble shooting steps I can find to no avail. Any tips? Thanks!

Hm, are you saying you cannot click / activate any of the cockpit buttons? This sounds like a window focus issue….
All the best, Uwe

Sorry, I meant that the buttons used to activate TrackIR in the settings screen of BMS aren’t turning green when I click on them (Enable 3D Cockpit TrackIR and Enable TrackIR vector). It’s like it’s not detecting that I have head tracking, even though I’m running Facetrack NOIR, and it is successfully tracking my movements….

I’ll need to check this at home when I’m back at my gaming rig.
Are you running a 64bit BMS?

Yes, I use 64-bit.

You might need to copy over the opentrack / freetrack 64bit library over to your FTNoIR installation. Maybe searching this forum for npclient64.dll or similar could help or check this post:

Link no longer active… can someone pm me that file?

https://github.com/opentrack/opentrack/blob/unstable/bin/NPClient64.dll
The file isn’t expected to change.
But keep in mind that it’ll only work with NPClient “protocol 4” games and no “protocol 5” games like Arma 2+, DCS…
People use opentrack to start up head tracking and then close it and use freetrack, in these cases. opentrack supports NPClient protocol 5.
