DX programming three way switches
-
I have a TQS Cougar and the Warthog set. I wanted to put some things on the Warthog throttle and followed the BMS DX Guide by Dunc regarding three way switches.
I wrote in the keyfile:
SimRFNorm 85 -2 -2 0 0x0 0
RIMRFQuiet 85 -2 -2 0x42 0x0 0SimRFSilent 86 -2 -2 0 0x0 0
SimRFQuiet 86 -2 -2 0x42 0x0 0I have no problem switching back and forth with the flaps switch on the throttle between Quiet and Silent. However in order to go from Norm to quiet I have to move the switch first completely down and then up again.
Any ideas?

Is this typo just in your post?

I would be interested to learn what/if you find.
I have the warthog, and for example the master arm I have mapped to “cycle”
and I just flip i up and down 1 or 2 or 3 times to get the switch to where I want it.I think you have to use Target to do what you want to do…
There isn’t a dx event for flipping the 3way switch back to center, right…
so you could maybe try to catch the button from the up or down position being “unpressed”
that’s pretty much what target is doing anyway, right? -
For a cycle you can advance the cycle once on up or down instead of needing to flip up and down. This can be done via BMS or TARGET.
For BMS the 0x42 will trigger on the button release event. The major difference between leveraging the 0x42 function or not is needing N or N-1 DX buttons to control a N-position switch. The 32 button limit can get a little tight when you’re giving every position of every switch its own DX button.

Instructions are included in your install, in Kolbe’s rather helpful keyfile manual. Page 56 or so if I recall correctly (been a while since I checked).

With the additions I posted everything works perfectly fine.
One thing I didn’t find out is how to do a smooth slew cursor operation - but that would be for another application: second BMS running on a second PC (for playing with a friend) with a Cougar and Warthog throttle installed (Warthog stick and Cougar TQS on PC No 1).
