Do you have a static IP address?

1. Which message is the one acting as Client getting after clicking on connect in COMS window?
2. Are you both able to connect as client to a known working server 24/7 coop server such as Falcon Lounge or Veterans gaming?
3. If 2 is true in the lobby do you see the other callsing as CS or P2P (if CS then then your portforwarding is not setup correct or you might sit behind a CGNAT)
4. Have you tried to set up the connection on IPv6 instead of IPv4 as well? -
1. Failed to connect to server
2. yes
3. CS and pls explain further GNAT
4. no and completely unfamiliar how to do that -
Has each of you tried hosting?
All the best,
Uwe

when you say firewall, are you referring to the windows firewall or your antivirus one? if the former, try disabling the antivirus one

So either your port forwarding is not correctly configured or your ISP is using CGNAT Carrier Grade NAT. In laymans term that means you don’t get a public IPv4 Address but a private IPv4 which is is then translated to a public IP at the ISP (Internet Service Provider) as weel as port forwarding is done on the ISP side. What is the IP Adress you are using if you try to host? If it’s something like 10.x.x.x indicates you are behind a CGNAT

it’s 192.xxx.xxx.xxx…so the solution rests to the ISP?or is there something on the router settings that can be done?

192.xxx.xxx.xxx is your local IP not the IP another client can connect to.
Your public IP you have to get from either your router or you could to a quick check with online service such as https://www.whatsmyip.org/If you really get an IP address starting with 192 assigned from your ISP (unusual as most ISP use a 10.x.x.x subnet for that purpose) then they use CGNAT and you can’t do any portforwarding on your end and in conclusion can’t host a IPv4 session on your end

192 indicates to me that you are using the IP address of your LAN connection, the address your router/modem assigns to devices connected to it. You want to use the WAN address to connect to, which is the address that the internet sees that goes to your router. Go to speedtest.net, the site to test your internet connection speeds, on the homepage there you will see your WAN address. If this is not the address your client is trying to connect to then yes, you will be unable to establish a connection. Also use a port tester tool program, to see if your ports needed for Falcon are open. I use Simple Port Tester. If it shows a fail then you do not have ports opened and will prevent you wasting time trying to connect to an impossible connection.
