f35 uses Metalhead’s F22 pit. no bays working on f35. Metalheads detailed pit instructions come with theater in manual folder
f22 is Metalhead’s model again same detailed pit instructions in theater’s manual folder

F-104 have a pretty detailed and good working pit.

F-5 Has a less interactive pit than the F104 but it has functional instruments and a working MFDSR-71 notice no hud is available for this plane.![](https://photos-6.dropbox.com/t/2/AADZuR8aV_e1oMzU5AV0d7PzNSdTbY2ijljS5SVUfGCM0Q/12/562071724/jpeg/32x32/1/_/1/2/sr71.jpg/ELKS9MAEGNwNIAIoAg/-231D0LnPNNn5W_cP8v6QClNCVXoMg_1sH4C1tCyfzA?size=12 80x960&size_mode=3)

couple of questions regarding the f-35 and f22:
-
the vtol version seems to have inferior flight characteristics than the A and C versions. is that due to the used harrier flight model to enable vtol in the first place? is it possible to have vtol together with the A and C characteristics?
-
the A and C versions seem to hover 3ft over the runway on landing until the nose wheel comes down. nicely modeled landing characteristics with the B version. again, due to the harrier flight model?
-
the cockpit both f-22 and f-35 have a secondary digital adi in the top right corner of the pit. it seems to be not working. is it possible to switch displays around more? like using that mfd for rwr, for example?
-
isnt the f-35 able to carry harm missiles on external wing stores?
-
…and what is the purpose of carrying stuff externally, therefore breaking the stealthy outline?
thanks in advance
-

The F35 and F22 operate with wing stores in nonstealth missions. Opening days of a war the F35 will probably operate stealthly, but once air defenses are down and stealth isn’t required as much the external stores allow it to become a bomb truck.
F22’s intercept Russian planes with wing tanks so the true stealth nature of the plane cannot be observed. F22’s in Syria are doing the same now, they run with a device that makes their cross section larger. So air defense systems cannot learn what an F22 really looks like on radar.
-
We have new more realistic load out for f35. And I am pretty sure b model is a tweaked av8 fm. No AB and slower too speed. These are wip jets that other people are still working on better models for. These are to hold us over for now. Who knows when high end models will be done. The button issues in f22 pit could be added to bug list but we need a volunteer to take on this project. Anyone?

Hey guys, awesome to see the F-4J’s in the theater. I’m glad all those skins are getting a workout…nice to see Trip Trey in the lineup again!
I’ve been having some trouble flying the Phantom, though. In particular, for example, if you get the jet up to about 13,000 feet or so, 400 knots, and then push those nose straight over, it will get to about 20 degrees nose down and then pop right back up. G-limiter? Or flight model bug?
In fact, I’d really appreciate it if a couple of you guys could take the jet up and just push it around the sky a bit and see what you think. There are definitely some quirks. I don’t want to say bugs, because for all I know it’s how the jet is supposed to fly.
-
What even brought this up was a flight I just had a few minutes ago. I was flying along, minding my own business when something took a shot at me. I nosed over to get some speed and get down a bit, got the jet to about 550 knots and maybe 45 degrees nose down, and then it just became plain unresponsive to control inputs and I ended up lawn darting. I’ve been trying to replicate it…maybe I got hit…it didn’t seem like it, but the plane just wouldn’t fly anymore.
-
One last thing, is there a cockpit switch to unfold the Phantom’s wing tips?
-
I don’t think in the pit of f4 we have that button will have to check with Ranger and ccc. This flight control prob you speak of sounds like the fm glitch we had in grippen for a while (if you weren’t shot). One way to check is to switch between autopilot and manual. If control is regained its the same type of glitch. I’m going to test it and try to replicate.
I’m sure you know the key for wing is ctrl w. Or shift w.
Just mention this in case you weren’t just asking for pit button but key buttonsCheers

I can’t recall if the F-4J has folding wings or not - it should. Also, don’t remember if I activated the folding wings . . . I would have to check. First, is to try the key code to fold/unfold wings. If that doesn’t work let me know. The other significant item would be the tail hook - am pretty sure that was activated with data for all the Navy Phantoms (B/N/J/S - which hasn’t been added but I just got cleaned up this past weekend from the DXM version).
Re: the anomalous flight characteristics of Mike’s Phantom check ride. . . not sure - I need to take a look at a few things, I think the FM being used is a hybrid between the old FF I used when I integrated all the Thoarek Phantoms, and the newer BMS FM. There area lot of things that need to be attended to with transitioning to the newer BMS FMs. Honestly, I am a bit surprised the a/c fly as well as they do considering how behind the times the FF stuff is compared to where we are now. It is quite possible that maybe something is being actuated in flight in a dive that is brining the nose up . . . but it needs to be fully tested which really hasn’t occured for quite a few new a/c that were added. It simply wasn’t possible with our small team.

Wings don’t fold but I tested j model and flaps seem to have a stall like reaction pretty easy. I did not get Total control loss like we had with grippen. On f4j , When flaps weren’t doing they’re job I flew straight and gained speed and they start functioning again pretty quick. Maybe the stall reaction is just too sensitive?
RECHECKED WINGS FOLD! MUST HAVE HAD WRONG KEYS IN MY LAPTOP
-
Fair thought this, Ned… why not?
With best regards,
Gianni. -
Good friend Gianni, They are supposed to fold. But a line or so might be missing in fm. I don’t know about the models but the simple answer to “why not?” Is **it happens and we missed it in beta testing. Cheers
Piove sul bagnato , cosi va il mondo
-
We need to test all the navy phantoms - I won’t be able to check the install for a week or two due to house maintenance, sorry.
-
Dearest friend Ned and Tony as well,
please let me be more clear on my answer: I wouldn’t have seemed a little sarcastic in my speech or my words.
The sense was the sense you, Ned, correctly argued they would mean.
But at this point should I still in time to propose myself too for this new testing task?E magari piovesse, Ned, sarebbe pure ora.
With best regards to you both,
Gianni. -
Yes please Gianni,
all the new Phantoms should be double checked as far as this control issue.
the navy, marine B/N/J/S should have hooks and folding wings working, but apparently some dont
and see if you have some loss of control issue like Mike experienced , my little test did not produce total loss of control but I may have had different circumstances than he.
we have a couple weeks before Tony is ready to look at this and next update is still WIP , so yes lets check out the phantoms they are very nice models and should work nicely as well.
cheers
-
keep in mind the F-4S has not been upgraded - - I just completed the DXM conversion and it is ready to be added so maybe for V2. RF-4 is still Work-in-Progress.
-
Good morning, dear friends.
Tony,
all clear, as your usual, and well understood - I’ll keep those in my mind when testing.Ned,
thanks for agreeing to my proposal, as first. Then, I’ll start to make a ‘to-do tests’ list to be sent to you just after for approval.
Please let me allow a pair of days (not of the Falcon kind, huh? ) to do that.E statemi bene nel frattempo, bellezze
With best regards,
-

Thanks a lot for your clear report, so much interesting indeed for me.
One last thing, is there a cockpit switch to unfold the Phantom’s wing tips?
Sorry, neither I can recall now ‘where’, and ‘if’ most of all, that switch might be located, and if it’s functional… I’m afraid that the answer is probably ‘not’, so you will be obliged to use the dedicated combined keys function on your keyboard, instead, as per Starrats’ wise advise.
Hope I’m wrong. But anyway, on my little own side I’ll check once again and I’ll let you known further in either case. With best regards,
