SimShaker for DCS World and Falcon BMS support thread

Having the executable buried and hard to find does make it hard to add it as an exception in firewalls and virus detection software.
I agree. More over, the location will be changed by the every update.
As a good workaround you can add exception by the process name (= file name), not the full path. Please see the picture attached.
Windows firewall, for example, promts to add exception rules automatically, nothing to do but click OK button. -
Thanks for confirming that, Andre!
Be that as it may, I’ve never seen anyone use it before and the fact that your install files are not contained in some folder where we (the users) are used to seeing it but rather embedded somewhere in MS…. that’s what makes it “special”
When you install an app from Android, Apple of Windows store, isn’t that the same?

I don’t install any “apps” from Android or Apple now, but even the Android “backup” program (backup my phone settings) allowed me to choose my install location. Even iTunes allowed me to pick my install location. Any Windows program I install I know exactly where it goes, except for stuff like DirectX or C++ or Visual Studio, etc. but that doesn’t bother me because they’re operating-system stuff anyway and not programs I directly interact with.

Hmmm… I’m trying to find that entry where I can set when the seat vibrations start when pulling Gs… but I can’t find it (Release version, not beta). Am I blind or has Andre taken it out?

DUH!! Hehehe… thanks Andre!

Due to the latest news about division of products of SSA and SSWings I have updated and have divided user’s guides. Can to somebody it is useful. SimShaker for Aviators & SimShaker - Wings User Manual+Руководство пользователя

I recently installed SimShaker for Aviators and then purchased a license for the Sound Modules part to work (I have Buttkicker Gamer2). Activation worked well, I’ve allowed the program and all it’s components past the Windows 10 Firewall, but…
When I run the application, and then run BMS (or run BMS and then start SimShaker Aviator) a window keeps popping up and then closing. It pulls focus from the active window (BMS) and makes it impossible for me to use my PC as this occurs every 3-7 seconds.
Here is an image of the window that pops up and then closes- it’s process is called SimShaker BMS SM Reader
and when I go to investigate this application in the AppData/Local/Apps/2.0/etc… folder, Windows Explorer locks up - I am unable to right click this application to verify it is unblocked or otherwise allowed to function.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
*probably best to note here that I did not understand the different versions of this program and had SimShaker Wings installed as well when I applied my Activation key to SimShaker Aviators. I have read about the different versions, but came out of it still confused on the various modules and softwares here. If you recall, I posted up an issue with Windows 10 blocking the installation which is what prompted me to try to install one of the other SimShaker applications. Thanks to Ice, I have found a way to unblock the software during installation on Win10, but now I have the above named issue. Before I assume to uninstall all SimShaker softwares and re-install from scratch, I wanted to see if there is something simple I am missing here. Thank you again!
- it’s process is called SimShaker BMS SM Reader

Actually SimShaker software family consists of:
1)SimShaker for Aviators by f4l0 (DCS World, FSX, P3D, X-Plane11 supported) with Sound Module addon,2)SimShaker - Wheels (iRacing, Assetto Corsa, Automobilista, rFactor 2, DiRT Rally, Project CARS, Project CARS2, ETS2, ATS, DiRT 4 and RRRE supported)
3)SimShaker - Wings (Falcon BMS and War Thunder supported)
Doesn’t look hard for understanding.
If you already have SimShaker - Wings, just un-check Falcon BMS support at Special Options tab of SimShaker for Aviators main window to prevent SimShaker BMS SM Reader from being started at all.

This was a BMS Sound Module (SM?) as far as I understand, in order for this program to not be a “demo”. If that is the case, and if I am preventing SimShaker BMS SM Reader from being started, why did I bother to get it just now?
Now I see that according to what you wrote, I need SimShaker Wings? Or is this what I was supposed to get instead of SimShaker for Aviators?
EDIT: I really did not understand this concept, and I did a fair bit of research I thought. It was when I went through this entire thread page by page, around page 58 I found posts describing this division in a break-down fashion. I do understand now, though I think a little confusion is understandable for newcomers such as myself…

This is not the best place to discuss money questions. I will answer you by email.

Guys, as a reminder,
SimShaker for DCS World and Falcon BMS will stop reading BMS shared memory from the October 1st.
Tonight may be a good time to switch to SimShaker - Wings. -
This is a bit naughty Andre.
A forced and now pay for upgrade on top of the cost of the original Jet Seat.
You could have left the original set up frozen, but still working.

I had a plan, it was announced, nothing was concealed, I still stick to it.
I have been open and loyal to the BMS community. I consider my conduct as a fair play. -
. .edited. Been set right by the community. Mea culpa.

Mm. Early time buyer of the setup. Been enthusiastic to many friends. After all this time a forced 20 euro upgraded or my product is useless? Does not feel right to me…
OMG. Well, once more.
I have never claimed that SimShaker support for Falcon BMS is free. I’ve been always saying that you can temporarily use it for free, until it’s in beta stage, and, afterwards, until my authorization system is not ready. I’ve been answering all the question about that. I didn’t like to bring poorly adapted for use authorization system. I spent a lot of time and efforts to make it better. I spent a lot of time and efforts to make the software better. During all that time you could use the software for free.May be that was too much long to let you make a conclusion that it will be free forever or forget some essential details of the bargain. “Andre is a great guy, he doesn’t play BMS though, but he works for us for free, as a slave.” Is that right for you?
The price was announced at an early stage of the project and you could see it in the software GUI. It still stays the same.
I appreciate early adopters and their support. Many of you guys have got “Andre’s KW-908 pack” or “JetSeat service pack”. For the packs owners the price for the software is 30% off.
With all this buzz around the money I will be probably banned here. Anyway, I keep my work up, you can contact me directly by any appropriate way at my favorite places in the Internet, if you need my service. Just keep in mind that I’m not a slave.
Happy flying! -
Are you guys serious? Andre put up the announcement early in August, that’s almost 2 months heads up notice. Did anyone even read the small pop-up when you “authorize” Falcon BMS? It was essentially a “free beta.”

Should still work fine with SSA and War Thunder, DCS, XP11, FSX, and P3D. Interestingly, I tried SSA again with BMS (see pic above) and it still works… I’m not sure for how long but you definitely won’t have any more improvements on that program compared to what is offered in SSWings.

I was a bit surprized also that it still works today. I have found that the program doesn’t take into account a time of the day and some time zone considerations.
Therefore there is another day for those who want to use the software for free.SSA is under general re-construction and BMS will not be supported in a new release.
-
Firstly I don’t have Simshaker for Aviators, so no I haven’t seen the notice.
So SSA was clearly in Andre’s planning.I am referring to SimShaker for DCS World and Falcon BMS, which I certainly did not expect to be disabled. This version could have been frozen with out support or upgrades and no longer available for download. Then you could offer the latest all singing all dancing pay verison.
Looking at your last statement.

UnquoteThe question is will you disable the final version of SSA for BMS when you create the new release without support for BMS or will it continue to work with no support or upgrades from yourself?
Note I have edited this post to highlight I didn’t use the SSA beta.

Anyone could/can easily find the same pop-up in SimShaker for DCS World and Falcon BMS, which SSA is based on. If one is looking for the truth.

I have never intended to do that. BMS support in any SimShaker software was intended to be a pay-wear from the very beginning.
Well, I think I have learned this lesson, thank you guys.
I stop answering questions regarding SimShaker for DCS World and Falcon BMS, which is discontinued, and money.
I’m going to finally get down to SimShaker - Wings further development.
