How modify the Point of view linked for example with the Buttons number "3"
-
Hi Good morning everybody
Sure this is so easy, but I have not found the correct answer yet, searching in the forum, so I need your help.
I would like, modify the Point of view, of the falcon external view, when I change between views, ( you know, when you press 1, 2, 3 etc numbers) and even the start view, I understand this information, is like (included) in some file, maybe in the .dat inside cockpitart folder but, I don’t found the correct place, and also I don’t see any information about.
Some of the cockpit gurus, can show me the way? thanks in advance
Cheers -
Maybe, my question is not eniought clear, sorry.
I dont talk about “external view” I means the point of view, you have of the world fron your ACESII seat. When you enter from the UI to the game, there are a normal view, when you are seat inside the cockpit and you can see the HUD and Center console and also the world arround you, What I wnat to modify is the pitch angle of this vision.
Hope this would be more clear and easy fo you help me.

Already talked many many times. Search for it.
U can and u can’t.U must change the 3d model in LE. and it must be the center of it IIRC. Doing so it’s an enormous pain… none has showed any evidence of doing so IIRC.
Alternatively if u use trackir or something familiar you can change the curves and initial states and head position in combination to recentering via the app or shortcut provided. -
If you are not using Track IR hit 3 again and it knocks the view pitch down more. If you use Track IR like me….it is not worth the headache get use to it

Many thanks to both.
Arty, believe before open do the question, I search with “point of view modify” “change point of view” and some others, but I dont see any relevant inforamtion. So your post make thinks more clear to me.
I understand, when you enter in the game, you goes direct to 3d pit, and there the software do not got the POV from any file, where you can modify the 3axles vector, so the POV goes direct to 0,0,0 (or any other arbitrary vector) because that is what is writed in the source code. So no way to change the POV in the first instace you enter in the 3dpit.
Maybe, for your comment about the POV can be changed usind the LOD, maybe this POV is writed in every flyable 3d cockpit in the 3d deficition, but would be necesary, modify every 3d model, and this is a heavy work.In other hand, following your information, could be posible, if I provide the information to the falcon software, about where I want see, doing some hardware to emulate Trackir and sending the Vector I would like put in the 3d pit. (just as I dont use track IR). Maybe is not necesary make a piece of hardware, and BMS can read the vector in some software way, without the necessity of hardware, I will try to find the information.
And finally, your post, also has make me think, about use the 2d istead the 3d pit, just as look like in the .dat file. there are some variables, that can be modified, and do soemthing like the Falcas HUD only tool.
Time to use your information, give the thanks and test how to make the modification, to move the POV a little bit pitch down for my cockpit.
Cheers and Thanks -
As you can see, when you enter in the pit, the correct pitch angle, in order to see the hud correct, is a few degrees down, this is quite logical, if you thing about.
But, in other hand, look like the cockpits are placed in the BMS 3d word just in 0 degrees pitch down.In others words, if you see just 0 degrees pitch forward, you don’t must see the hud imagen, just as is collimated to see it, just in the pitch down the lens climate the imagen in your eyes, and this is a little bit degrees down. Maybe for reason, Falcas, before me, feel that the position of the HUD don’t fit with his cockpit, and suppose many others will have the same “necessity”
In my case, now I will use the Falcas solution, use the solo hud and ,modify the angle, for my test is 6,6 degrees pitch down with 150 FOV, and is really easy to do it, just modify the .dat files to use the Falcas tools, if you prefer modify all the models.
Next step. I will continue looking for the way to find some variable in falcon to modify this pitch angle, directly. Maybe in the shared memory area there are some variable linked with pitch. If I found the easy way, I will update this post, to share with all of you.
Cheers and thanks again
