I don’t use the throttle detent so I guess that I will have to just estimate when AB kicks in on the throttle curve.
I also separated the CSD button when shifted by just making the CSD button VAC and VHF and moving the TS3 button to MSU. Now if I fly using TS3, VHF is on a separate button. See below in case anyone else wants to do this:
//Coolie Switch - Mapped to copy the COMM switch in the Cougar throttle
MapKeyIO(&Throttle, CSU, PULSE+‘u’, DX22); // VAC PTT Activate, UHF Transmit
MapKeyIO(&Throttle, CSD, PULSE+‘u’, DX24); // VAC PTT Activate, VHF Transmit//MapKey(&Throttle, MSU, AXIS(DX_SLIDER_AXIS, 80, 20)); // Radar Elevation Up
MapKeyIO(&Throttle, MSU, SCRLCK, AXIS(DX_SLIDER_AXIS, 80, 20)) ; // Radar Elevation Up and Scrollock for TS3In the future I may eliminate the VAC buttons all together as most of the time I use the voice sleep and awake commands for Vac so it is button free.

Well, you can use the detent just for setting up the AB, then remove the detent for regular use…. although I cannot imagine why you’d fly without the detent…
In the future I may eliminate the VAC buttons all together as most of the time I use the voice sleep and awake commands for Vac so it is button free.
What is that?
-
I use Vac mode all the time. “Open channel” awakes Vac and “Close channel” puts it to sleep. From the Vac manual:
VAC Mode - Selected mode ‘Sleep’/‘Awake’ will process when this action is triggered.
Sleep mode will disable VAC from processing any commands;
Awake mode will enable VAC to process commands.
Any action phrase can be assigned to either mode.

I just read the readme text in Rogue’s new profile and perhaps you can use his code in your profile for a hot start? There are also some profile functions on the ANTI ICE panel’s ENGINE switch. The default position is OFF, which represents a jet ready for cold start. Flicking it to AUTO will pause the sim, set all switches to the positions for a TAXI or RUNWAY start, and then unpause the sim. This will take several seconds as all the keystrokes have to catch up, but the sim won’t see them since it will be paused. Flicking the switch to ON will set the switches to positions for an air start (for which the only major difference is the LG handle).

He’s more than welcome to pull any ideas from my profile that he wants. That being said, there’s nothing stopping you from doing it for your own use.
You can try opening two separate windows of Profile Editor, open his profile in one and mine in another. You can then select the ENGINE switch and hit CTL c, then open his profile to where you want and hit CTL v. The switch should move over and most of the functions should be retained (though I’d double check it). You could then edit your new switch and change the art to match the art style in his profile.
If that doesn’t work, you can just create a new switch in his profile and add all those functions yourself.

Thanks for the info sobe! Sorry I’ve not been able to reply immediately, long shifts at work! As Rogue said, you’re obviously free to copy and modify our profiles as you see fit; after all, it would be how YOU want to use it.
I would not trust Helios too much with copy-paste though. It works sometimes, other times it doesn’t, so if you do copy-paste, make sure you test it thoroughly to make sure everything is working correctly
Rogue, why does it send keystrokes and not just alter the switch states from up to down or vice versa?
-
I tried the copy/paste and none of the set commands came through.
-
Yeah, Helios can be funny with this. Unfortunately, I’ve not really tested to see what works, how, or why.
I’ve been thinking of a few things… obviously we have COLD, TAXI, and RUNWAY start options, but we also have a fourth start — IN AIR. I could simply have three buttons that will set up the aircraft switches accordingly (TAXI, RUNWAY, and AIR) but these buttons will have to be manually pressed after the mission loads. I could “automate” it a bit, maybe tie it to some data in the sim, so that it can determine whether you’re cold/taxi/runay/air start, but that will take longer, if it will work at all.

I think most of that is from the radio volume switches, but when the switch is moved, Helios is going to export the keystroke it calls for. I figured this and pausing it while it’s working was a better way to go than creating an additional profile.

I took the jet up for a flight last night and much to my amazement-everything worked. Your Helios profile and target script were right on and I loved YAMA and the map with waypoints. If this package were a commercial product, I would have definitely bought it.
One change that I am considering is to add a next/prior steer point command to the shifted left and right mic switch, but I am having an issue locating the key command for this ICP button. Any thoughts? -
I bought a new Acer ut220hql touch screen. Got the monitor to come on and work, but the touch functions seem to be non-existent on my Windows 7 Home Premium. The Tablet PC Windows component is on. The Tablet PC input service does not run and switches to manual after reboot.
Sucks. I was looking forward to getting a touch screen going.
-
I’m going to risk one of us sounding stupid here, but I’m assuming that you plugged a USB cable from your touchscreen to the PC? Otherwise the Tablet PC settings in Control Panel won’t show up.

THANKS MAN! That was the missing link.

Your XML file provided is not compatible with YAME64 current version. It renames the file to old.
Do I have to manually place all of the YAME gauges again? Or do you have an updated layout file?
-
I’m using YAME 1.2 I think. I didn’t update to the hot fix yet I guess. My bad.
Can’t do anything about it for several days though. I’ll try taking a look at it when I get home and seeing what I can figure out.
You can certainly try setting up the gauges yourself and opening my xml in a text editor so you can use it as a reference for where everything goes. Would be a little tedious but it would work.

Also… to keep things on track, try to ask questions about my profile in its proper thread, please. [emoji106]

I was speaking to ICE. But I got it working. I just manually placed the gauges.

Did you use the Korea KTO.png I supplied in my blog? That’s a higher-res version to be used in the moving map.

I presume you are talking about SimICPPrevious and SimICPNext?

Did not see that page. I just did it all by hand, using your config file.
Thanks!
