Falcon MFD Software for android tablets
-
Hello komurcu,
do you think it is still possible to split the both MFDs on two tablets? I wrote in the past the following posting:
Regards,
I just found this handy little gem, assuming I have the correct app on my tablet, there is an option in the app to use multiple tablets. I personally haven’t got it running yet, didn’t find it until 2 am, played with it for a little while but succumbed to sleep before I got it going. Looking at videos waiting for it to download, there was 2 tablets, each with an MFD.

Never mind, found the work around. A slight difference in tablet keyboard functions.

you can download that key file

First off, excellent job n the app. I’m a bit of a techtard when it comes to these things but I finally quit overthinking it and got it up and running.
Now for the questions……
Is this file complete for current sim version? Most everything works except the onscreen autopilot functions (not concerned with these), air break indicator and other top bar numbers (would be nice but not a show stopper), but most of all the ICP DED switch (this one is killing me).I can do everything from the tablet except set up auto waypoint and get the TGP laser in combat mode. I currently have a crude system in place using the ICP on the tablet to make selections and working the DED with my mouse but its a handful while trying to fly too.
Also, I’ve noticed my sticks (X52 PRO) crashing a lot since getting the tablet involved. Not sure if its the difference in the X52 vs X52 PRO (apparently there’s some differences?) or if its my just laptop/sticks causing it.
Either way, thanks for the great app. One day I will have a proper desktop system that can live up to all the peripheral goodies that have come along since my precious adventures.

I was just referred to this app, but I’m finding that the MFDs are too small on my 7" Kindle Fire HD. Is there a way to resize the displays, or an available version that supports 7" tablets?

I may need some help here, I’ve followed the installation PDF and have changed exportttt from 0 to 1.
Pressing buttons are fine and are receiving correctly in game. However, my phone isn’t getting the MFD and RWR screen even though I’ve already started them via ‘testing part’. It says ‘unable to connect to IP address’ when I press ‘send msg’ or ‘send img’. The image in the server.exe is updating tho.
That’s weird, because I shouldn’t be able to receive buttons If I’m not already connected to the IP. Any clue?

Wow, this is cool stuff!
I installed it, followed the documentation (i think) and got it nearly working:
Tablet is connected, MFDs are visible and update well, but pressing the buttons has no effect.
The incoming msg list says “(SimCBEOSB_20L) Key Does Not Match”
But i don’t know with what to match it?
The corresponding part of the documentation saysTo ensure all the buttons and switches are working properly on the App, test each one and make sure the
correct keyfile command shows on the Server “incoming msg list”.- If not, make the appropriate changes to your keyfile (thru BMS or other means) and reload the keyfile in the “Server”. Keep doing this until you are statisfied that all buttons and switches are working properly.
But it isn’t mentioned what the appropriate changes are?!
Any help?
I read the first page and documentation but this thread has over 100 pages which i didn’t all read. Sorry if this has already been explained. -
Ok, finally reading back some pages in the thread, i got my problem solved by replacing “0x” with “0X” in the key file. And reloading everything. Seeing that this is a recurring issue, it would be good idea to note this on the first page of this post i think.
Another smaller issue i see: When turning (for example) the ECM program knob on the tablet app, it turns on PC cockpit, but when turning on PC cockpit it does NOT turn on tablet app.
Is this a known limitation?
Not so much a big deal, but it would have been perfect if both were always in sync.Anyway, it’s very good app!
Many thanks! -

Many thanks!Currently, that is the way it is working. I personally stay away from using the cockpit switch and then using the tablet switch…it will get out of sync. I am curious to see what Komurcu will say…

One more thing: the top line readouts for fuel flow, total fuel, chaff, flares and AB state do not update on the tablet. Any ideas?

yes you should enable it on first screen
press Start Flight Data button

Ok, got that, thanks.
One suggestion for improvement of the map feature:
How about an option to have a moving map centered on the aircraft position?
UI-suggestion:- Tap anywhere on the map -> map gets stationary. You can scroll it. (as currently)
- Tap on the aircraft symbol -> Center map on aircraft and map moves with aircraft.
That would be awesome!

I have got a little problem here. I have installed FalconMFDServer (3.5.0.0) on my PC. The only thing which does not seem to work is to save the IP of my tablet. I put it in the IP of my tablet, but Server does not save it. When I reopen I always have 192.168.56.101 in it again. I’m running it as Admin. And if I enter my IP and try to message the tablet, it gives an error reaching it. Is there something on Windows 10 which might be blocking it?

The IP on the server is what your tablet app IP needs to match. In other words, do not change the server IP address…only change the IP on the tablet to match the server…then save the change on the tablet app. Once you close the app on the tablet and restart it, the IP on the tablet should still match the IP address on the server.

Thanks. Yes thats what I’m doing. The app works fine and accepts the servers IP. But on the PC program, if I put the tablets IP in it, I can’t message the app. And if I close and restart the PC program it always jumps back to the same wrong IP, which is not the one the tablet has as you can see in the picture

Try this. Skip the testing and just run the server and the app (with the server and the app’s IPs matching). What happens then? I am guessing you have already followed the instructions on the MFD picture on the server.

Thanks. Yes I forgot that BMS has to be running already before the server can communicate with the app. So it does not work perfectly reliable, but finally it worked. But now there is the next issue. While the MFDs content is displayed correctly on the app, I cant use the touch screen MFD buttons on the app. I hear the click and see the buttons being pressed on the app, but in the BMS cockpit nothing happens. I still can use in the cockpit the mouse to click MFD buttons, which also changes the modes in the BMS cockpit and the app accordingly, but not on the app. Any ideas?
