Throttle problem (Logitech 3D pro)
-
Hi pilots,
I installed the game two days ago, and i am getting a bit frustrated with my Logitech 3D pro throttle.
I tried several times to Ramp Start.
My throttle appears correctly set up in the setup menu. i.e. the green gauge responds perfectly for the full throttle amplitude. The AB is set around 90%, and idle at either 0% or c.a. 5%.
No saturation or deadzone.
Iddle cutoff is off in config.
So, in the plane, when I move my logitech throttle to max, the F16 throttle gets to max too but starts to move when I am only around 60%. Then when I move back to zero the F16 throttle get down only to c.a 60%. It just looks like I have a huge deadzone on the lower 60% of my logitech throttle when in game (but not in setup menu)!
Any idea if that’s a sort of bug or is it an obscure normal behaviour?By the way, can somebody explain me what is the idle detent doing?
Thanks for your help,

I guess you are talking about % engine rpm. If so, that’s about right, with the throttle all the way back the engine is running at idle, somewhere close to 70%. So, yes, that’s normal behavior.
The idle detent is in fact the detent you hit with the RL throttle when sliding it al the way back. The detent prevents you from putting the throttle in cut-off by accident. In RL you have to lift the throttle over the detent to move it to cut-off to shut down the engine. RL based HOTAS also often have a idle detent and so can be used in BMS.

If you are talking about the RPM which is the gauge in the right console, so that is a normal behavior, F-16 Engine idles at 60% of full power this is why when you get your throttle all the way back, the RPM will still at 60 or 70% …
Anyway, Terminator illustrated the idle detent very well, nothing more to say.
I just recommend to read the Training manual, located in the Documentation folder, go through the first couple pages of sweeps and ramp start, you can reach it through the launcher before starting the game, that would help.

Which model of engine idles at 60 percent?

Hi guys,
I am of course following the ramp procedure described in the trainning manual.
I actually talk about the throttle cmmand itself, not the rpm.
When I say that the throttle don’t get down below 60% I mean the 3D throttle command and its ‘physical’ position.
And because I cannot bring it back the throttle to idle the rpm just continuously increases and that finishes by a nice boom.
Thanks for clarification about idle detent -

Thanks for clarification about idle detentIn the Setup page on the Throttle axis, there is a Yellow line for AB detent, and a Red line for Idle detent - is the Red line at the very bottom of the scale? If not, close your throttle device to minimum, then right-click the SET AB button, this will bring the Red line down to absolute bottom. This might help?

http://support.logitech.com/en_au/product/extreme-3d-pro/downloads
This URL is for your Joystick software, download it and create new profile for BMS, adjust your joystick as needed.
BTW, I have the same Logiteck 3D MAX PRO but having no issue with it. -

That’s what I was thinking but Shomke stated in his first post he positioned idle at 0-5%, no hurt in dubbel checking it though. Also take a look the setup - > controllers - > advanced - > Flight Control tab and check the throttle response.

Well guys I found the problem. It is my brain…
I just inverted the AB and idle red and green bars in the throttle setup.
Thanks for you help any way. I will continue my learning tomorrow evening -
