New High Resolution Monitors

I’m playing on one, the Acer 34 Predator. The cockpit in BMS is huge (no pun intended)! Is there any way to scale the size of the monitor without going back to a 1920x1080 monitor?
Thanks

Selecting 1920 x 1080 or similar from the available Resolutions list in Setup/Graphics might be an option.

Why not just increase your FOV? There are negative aspects to going too high an FOV, but you can mitigate them to extend by enabling SmartScaling. I fly on an X34a and I use 75FOV I think, I’ll need to check when I’m home. Any smaller, and it makes spotting targets beyond ~5nm really hard.

This monitor is a 34" 3440x1440 ultra-wide monitor, so sticking to the default FOV is not ideal. +1 to Planehazza’s recommendations of increasing the FOV…. but the exact FOV is up to you and what you feel comfortable using.

Thank you all for your suggestions. The cockpit still takes up most of the view in game, but the FOV helps a little.

There are 2 fov settings: g_fDefaultFOV and g_fMaximumFOV. Try to play with the later.

Im on a 32" 256x1440 and its not huge.
You just need to change your POV in the config App, simple. 65-70-75 default is 60.
Or is this just bragging about your new extended wide screen monitor:?
“Predator”, monitors have names now? That’s akin to giving ones body parts names.

“Bragging, No”. Asking a question, yes. I actually should have done more research before getting this thing. Every monitor review shows kiddie games, not “real” games. With these types of monitors, the cockpits in sims just don’t scale very well, except for DCS.
Thank you

Works well for me, but yes, a 3 screen method is probably better for a wide view for flightsims. The 21:9 Gsync works brilliantly for the other games I play.

I think its as simple as setting the appropriate FOV in the config page.
And if you need more then 80deg then it can be edited manually in the Config data file easily with a text editor, preferably Notepad++ which I’m shore your familiar with.
