FacetrackNoIR Too fast and jittery
-
I have been using FacetracknoIR for some time now, but no matter how I set it up the movements of my head are very exaggerated. I have a three monitor setup so I don’t need it as violent in its movement as if I had only one. I’d like to know how to set it up for a complete, yet smooth movement.
Thanks

Have you fiddled with the acceleration curves? Which tracker plugin are you using? Which camera model & clip?
all the best, Uwe

Thanks for your replies. I have the ps3 eye camera and have changed the curves. What I don’t know is whether I should try to change the accela filter curve too??

Use opentrack, all others are lacking really tested most of them and opentrack gives alot of control. Very smooth using ps3 eyecam and homemade clip

Here are my FaceTrackNoIR (latest version) settings (using the delanclip and the pointtracker plugin):
They may have changed slightly in the meantime as those screenshots were made quite a while ago, but not in any major way.
Cheers, Uwe

Thanks, I’ll try those. One question though, if it’s used with three monitors, are those curves ok, or should I use something different?

I’m on a single monitor, but I’ll guess you’ll have to change the curves a bit anyway to fit to your camera / seating / clip position (my clip is mounted on the right side of the headphones).
All the best, Uwe

FWIW, there’s a workaround for SimConnect[1] broken in the latest release. There’s no workaround for VR roll axis breaking stuff (gimbal lock), will be fixed soon as per our release discussion.
[1] Copy “libopentrack-proto-simconnect.dll” as “opentrack-proto-simconnect.dll”. Exact file name except the “lib” prefix. Keep both files.
