Rudder issue
-
hi guys.
having an issue with my rudder.
have the trusted old elite rudder pedals connected to my cougar and when calibrating, it shows me the raw values when I move them left to right.
now, when opening BMS or the joystick analyser, it doesn’t move.I have the cougar setup according dunc’s setup.
never had this issue before.
any ideas?

did some troubleshooting with following result.
uninstalled the cougar drivers and reinstalled.
rudder showed as working in foxy joystick analyser.
did a manual calibration. as before, the raw values showed the rudder as working, but after calibration, foxy analyser did not show the rudder as working (rudder indicating 50%, did not move)

turns out it wasn’t the manual calibration.
rudder stops working once I activate button emulation.
is this a dx issue?

no, its a case of not configuring the stick properly. If you want to use the stick with directX, and without a great deal of mucking around, you want to leave the big button and axis emulation button, bright red (off).
If you turn it on (green, programmed mode), you will need to mess with Foxy to make it work - not impossible, but a great deal more effort than required. You can after all, just leave it in the normal, unprogrammed, directx mode, and program with BMS what each directX button and axis should do.

problem solved.
I bought a second hand cougar recently with a fssb r2 installed which was dodgy. when changing the fssb to my working cougar I apparently used the pcb from the dodgy one. when changing the pcb it all worked again.
