A Guide to Morphine’s Profile for BMS 4.33 and Beyond
-
Okay with the new changes to 4.34 it looks like this profile needs to be updated again. I will look at it and see what I can find but if you use any of the radios it gets pretty wonky fast
I followed the same install instruction for 4.33 in 4.34 and everything works fine for me. Make sure you’re setting up devicesorting.txt again.
This is what’s in mine.{FFFF044F-0000-0000-0000-504944564944} "Thrustmaster Combined" {B351044F-0000-0000-0000-504944564944} "F16 MFD 1" {B352044F-0000-0000-0000-504944564944} "F16 MFD 2" {C0F2068E-0000-0000-0000-504944564944} "CH Pro Pedals USB"

In post #2 above it states:
Since one the most popular request for this profile is to swap the shift button from the pinky to the paddle, I have created another version of this profile which completely switches the function of the paddle to the pinkie. Meaning not only does the paddle now shift, it also controls weapons, and radar FOV,ect. Link below, install instruction same as above.My question is whether the updated version just posted by Benco has the shift button on the pinky or the paddle and if on the pinky, can I just use the method suggested by Morphine to make the change to the shifting with the paddle?

Hey,
Here is the “Paddle swap” version : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1xUCbyWC_L4JoHR27qPXeq02dvgk7IlVr/view?usp=sharing
With the “Shift” button on the Paddle.Happy Easter

Hey,
Need HELP!
I’ve been useing Morphine’s profile for years. Now I’m totaly confused because 4.34 version by Benco doesn’t work at all. Everytime I run TARGET it loads Warthog_BMS_Ful_5_434_benco.tmc without any problems. Then I run Falcon with corresponding Warthog_BMS_Full_5_434_benco.tmc file and all buttons work in a different way, f. eg. Pickle button calls OSB button 5, or smth.I don’t know what is wrong. BTW Target is up to date.
Happy Easter!!

Don’t forget to check the devicesorting.txt file in the config folder and edit it to match the controller config.
The Thrustmaster Combined or Thrustmaster Root needs to be the first line in that file. -
YEAH!!!
Now it works fine.Thank you TxMtb

How come my controllers don’t get identified as “thrustmaster combined”, but instead show up as “Thrustmaster Virtual Game Controller (root)”? The profile also only seems to activate properly a fraction of the time. Often I will start up bms(4.34) and all binds will show as obs-whatever. It worked fine the first time I set everything up but has been really finicky ever since then.

Because something is blocking target from running correctly. When something interferes with Target, the button assignment in BMS gets messed up due to the unique way BMS handles joystick enumeration.
The most likely cause is the Teamspeak joystick plugin. This is easily fixed by deleting the plugin, rebooting and trying again. However other issues may arise. For example, the joystick may simply not respond when the script runs. Again a driver / windows error. The solution here is to stop the script, go into Windows Control Panel, then into Devices and Printers. Right Click on the joystick and hit trouble shoot. Even if the troubleshoot fails, it often fixes the issue. However, people have reported that the most effective solution is run an older verison of the warthog drivers and target. See the thread below. This may not be an option if you have the new expensive thrustmaster rudder pedals.
Bottom line is that target is kind of a crap shoot these days. If you want something more reliable than maybe look at joystick gremlin or just bind the button in game and give up the hat on the throttle. -
I don’t even have teamspeak installed on this pc. I will check out the other solutions, thank you.

You can user the event viewer in windows to see what maybe blocking the file from working.

the order of my file devicesorting is:
{FFFF044F-0000-0000-0000-504944564944} “Thrustmaster Combined”
{B351044F-0000-0000-0000-504944564944} “F16 MFD 1”

Are you using an older version of target? If some try full 4. All full 5 does is disable the super expensive thrustmaster rudder pedals. Right now I don’t recommend updating target unless you have specific hardware you want to run. Even then it’s a pain.

Just coming back to BMS and trying to recall how to read a target script. However, the script for the Mic Switch really confuses me. Could someone go line by line unshifted and shifted and explain to me what each line does. Morphine’s diagram is a little cryptic. Somehow, I have to get VAC to work with this switch so I need to understand the purpose of each key to modify something to make Vac work.
Thanks in advance.//Mic Switch
MapKeyIO(&Throttle, MSU, DX27, CHAIN( MOUSE_CENTER, DX27));
MapKeyIO(&Throttle, MSR, CHAIN(PULSE+‘q’, D(), PULSE+‘q’, D(), PULSE+‘2’), DX28);
MapKeyIO(&Throttle, MSD, DX29, CHAIN( SCRLCK, DX29));
MapKeyIO(&Throttle, MSL, CHAIN(PULSE+‘q’, D(), PULSE+‘q’, D(), PULSE+‘1’), DX30);
MapKeyIO(&Throttle, MSP, PULSE+F12, PULSE+F11); -

Scroll Lock is Push to talk for TS, So Morphine was using Mic switch down for push to talk in TS. Middle mouse button must have been his TS whisper key. Which is triggered by Mic switch up. In their default state these buttons activate both TS and the in game Comms channels. When shifted it’s just in game coms.
Mic forward and aft just send activate the in game comms switch on the hotas. In their shifted state they hit Q to open the awacs menu, then press 1 or 2, to either declare or request picture. Mic switch in and out are set for default trackIR functions. However the Keys have no function in game, same for F7- F12 and Scroll Lock. They are only setup to control external programs,

Updated the front page with latest versions for 4.34. Since Benco did most of the leg work on the necessary changes. I took the time to note the key file and re arrange it. The idea was to make it easier to understand, so that people could make their own changes to it when they desire. Now you’ll find the joystick button bindings at the top of the .key with comments, and segmented by device. The comments wont show in the in game key bind menu due to engine limitations, best to edit them with notepad ++. Example of the new comments below. Link to basic profile here https://www.dropbox.com/sh/kayxm1llc5qp72d/AAC4vU2S4JvVJh_i-GNSDPBTa?dl=0. The new paddle swap is on the front page too.

Thank you for the updated profile, works as expected.
I have one issue though: the setup works flawlessly ingame but whenever i press the “Pinky Switch” in game, the bindings seem to reset completely and I cannot use the joystick buttons any longer. The DMS Button-Presses just become OSB-Button-Presses mid flight. I have to restart the game in order to fix this and never touch the Pinky Switch or I am screwed in game.
Any suggestions?

Aren’t your g_nHotasPinkyShiftMagnitude in Falcon BMS.cfg set other than 256?

I had the same, identical symptoms …, the culprit was unfortunately “Alternative Launcher”. Version 1.0.0.0 did not create the problem, but you can not enter the profiler HOTAS settings, only theaters can be changed. Falcon 4.33 and X52 Pro with the latest Logitech controllers, „Flounder X52 Pro v5 - Full”.
