@DISCODAN Exactly, thought I was in a DCS forum there for a minute.
But you can never make everyone happy, I for one have been loving the fresh breath of air that is BMS in general.

RE: Thrustmasters F16 TQS
Having owned a lot of Thrustmaster equipment over the years my biggest worry is going to be the quality of slew/axis control/potentiometers/buttons/switches.
Until Delta Sim came out with their replacement for the slew on the Warthog throttle, it was pretty bad.
The Cougar pots seemed like they always wanted to get jittery at the wrong time also.
The buttons on the Warthog were cheesy membrane switches with plastic cases, once replaced with quality buttons, it’s a heck of a lot better. Then again, that took $$$ on something that already wasn’t cheap.Hopefully can see some reviews soon and see what quality level they have put into this. For that price, hopefully everything is digital/hall and no cheesy pots/buttons/switches anymore.

Well done video. -
RE: [Solved] Position of the start window
@tdr Press Right CTRL and Enter, this will give you a windowed 2d Screen,
Drag the screen where you want it to be from the title bar
Press Right CTRL and Enter again to go back to borderless, exit and open BMS again and the window should be in borderless where you moved it to. -
RE: Mapping the Warthog flaps switch to MASTER ARM?
@Elegantly It can be done by manually editing the keyfile you are using, below is an example using the AP switch.
So switch up triggers SimLeftAPUp
When it’s returned to center it triggers the SimLeftAPMid action, the key to that line is the 0x42 that tells BMS to take action when 53 is released.
Same thing applies for 54 on and off, hence the need for 4 lines.SimLeftAPUp 53 -2 -2 0 0x0 115
SimLeftAPMid 53 -2 -2 0x42 0x0 115
SimLeftAPDown 54 -2 -2 0 0x0 115
SimLeftAPMid 54 -2 -2 0x42 0x0 115 -
RE: Would you consent to send information to BMS server?
Personally have no problem with it, but feel it would need to be like “most” other software does it.
Optional checkbox to provide non-personally identifying information to be shared.
Or ask users to participate in an online hardware survey that links to the site.Otherwise you run the risk of people claiming BMS is stealing personal data etc…

RE: Hung stores
@Bowser Could be something to check, when I had that issue it turned out to be hardware related. Tested the Warthog Weapons Release Button and it was flaky. Replaced it and didn’t have any issues after that.

RE: Voice control
@hoover I use it with the wildcards set up and it works great imo. Just have some memorizing of keywords to do.
With the wildcards, I can transmit “Gunsan Tower, Goblin 1-1 Request Taxi for Departure”
It will key on Tower, Taxi, and Departure and execute that command.
For another example, “Gunsan Tower, Goblin 1-1 Request taxi Back to Ramp”
It will key on Tower, Taxi, and Back to execute that command. -
RE: Stream Deck Profile - For anyone who wants it
@Sharpe Nice timing and thanks for sharing! Just picked one up the other day and have set up the ICP and some miscellaneous button stuff. Works great so far.
Just started to mess around with single button multi action stuff so this is great and should help with the learning curve.

RE: Problem with devicesorting.txt
@CriticalMass Do you have OneDrive setup so the files are always stored locally and then updated in the cloud only when they are changed on the PC?
OneDrive can cause permission issues also as it thinks it’s the “owner” of the file, not your PC. -
RE: Problem with devicesorting.txt
@SemlerPDX You might be onto something, wonder where OP has BMS installed? /Program Files on the OS drive is notorious for having permissions issues with Win 10 and 11.
I’m running Win 11 Pro, and the read only works fine even if I leave my other controllers plugged in. But BMS is on a separate SSD and installed directly off the root of that drive.

RE: Does anyone use Elgato Stream Deck XL Advanced Stream Control . Thinking about getting one
To do the toggle function, you select System on the right, then HotKey Switch
You can define the first press and second press then, and assign an icon to each.
So first press gives G, second gives Alt G, have the mapped accordingly in my keyfile.

RE: Does anyone use Elgato Stream Deck XL Advanced Stream Control . Thinking about getting one
@jack72 It’s just the Streamdeck XL model. Right now it’s not an interactive interface, it’s basically a fancy button box.
Hopefully in the future someone can create the interface to read from shared memory and set switch states on the box for BMS.
For DCS, there is already an interface that has been written that can read from DCS and set buttons accordingly. -
RE: Does anyone use Elgato Stream Deck XL Advanced Stream Control . Thinking about getting one
@hoover I just tried it again and see how it’s changed now.
The button icons are in the folders, like 0,1 - 0,2 - etc…
Then the CustomImages under that and there will be a png file. That’s the button, and it looks like they all have the same name too. That’s painful, but still doable. Here’s a link to an ICP icon pack that is pretty good there’s several in that thread, so look and see which on you like.
https://forum.dcs.world/topic/215387-f-16-icp-stream-deck-icon/Then there’s the profiles that everyone has created:

RE: Does anyone use Elgato Stream Deck XL Advanced Stream Control . Thinking about getting one
@Sunnny Yep and it actually works pretty well. So the switch state can also be shown on the streamdeck.
The latest version of Helios has the beginnings of a Streamdeck plugin so hopefully those devs are working on getting the plugin to read switch states. Then you just unpack it using Winrar and get a folder with all the icons.
That’s how I got most all of my icons I use. It’s easy and quick.

RE: Does anyone use Elgato Stream Deck XL Advanced Stream Control . Thinking about getting one
@jack72 I have it also and really like it, it’s my ICP along with other misc commands. Since you can have multiple pages under a profile, it’s still possible to use it for streaming controls and other stuff.
It programs in the Streamdeck software. Single press button toggles or dual toggles, where it does 1 function on first press and 2nd function on 2nd press.
So to program something like a gear or light button, you’ll want to create a key assignment for both the on and off switch states in BMS. Then program those into the Streamdeck software.
You can find some profiles that people have made for ICP etc through google, I used those to get the set of icons for the ICP and other stuff, some others I just made from screen captures, helios, etc…
It really not hard, just kinda time consuming depending on how many functions you want to have. -
