Target issues never stop comming
-
I sent this to TM support:
As TM support requested, I uninstalled and reinstalled Target and the same thing happened. As soon as I clicked the menu button in the script editor, target would close. Today, I decided to click a target profile and have it open with target and it did. the profile compiled, but when I hit the run button I got the following errors:
"Error (internal) cannot associate a filter with the selected USB HID device “VID_044F&0404” and
"Error (internal) cannot associate a filter with the selected USB HID device “VID_044F&0402”
“USB HID device with hardware id “VID_044F_0403” cannot be found.”
I HAVE NO VID_044F_0403 LISTED AMONG MY 6 CONTROLLERS (4 MFDS, WH THROTTLE AND JOYSTICK).
0404 IS THE THROTTLE “USB\VID_044F&PID_0404&REV_0100” ANDO402 IS THE JOYSTICK " USB\VID_044F&PID_0402&REV_0100"
ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Messing with devices is a major security hurdle in later versions of Windows. Absolutely TARGET should have administrator rights.
Some time ago I uninstalled TARGET and TMWH drivers and then went to used programs to clear out my USB device history (IObit and maybe CCleaner). Still to this day I have to unplug and replug the throttle before running a script the first time after boot. Then that makes my joystick unresponsive (profile excludes joystick) so I replug that. After that everything works fine until next boot.
Apparently 401 and 403 are the joystick and throttle controllers sold “bulk” which I assume means individually. I have no idea why they would use different drivers than 402 and 404 which are the same devices sold as a set. If you want to you can look for that 403 driver here https://www.driverscloud.com/en/drivers/manufacturercat/622-15-1/thrustmaster-usb-devices

Today I examined my computer files and for the first time noticed that i seem to have a double install of target, one in program files and one in program files (x86). So I spent about an hour going through all of my directories and uninstalling every instance of target, then I reinstalled target and for the first time in months target worked. Did I solve all the problems? Not sure. The target script stills says that it cannot find device 403 but that is because I don’t have it. 402 is the WH joystick and 404 is the WH throttle.

Same problem belongs to me. I’ll try to clean the registry.

IIRC, device 403 is the standalone stick, since they sell them both separately now, but only the stick has a different ID.
