Falcon MFD Software for android tablets

Works fine for me as well with 4.34, just kept the MFDE server instance pointing to my 4.33 install.
All the best, Uwe

Thanks for the quick reply! I had already loaded the 4.34 keyfile (and remembered the lower case ‘solve’ ) but when I jump on the tablet and hit a key I get ‘key does not match’ in the server window. When I open the tablet I also see the 4.33 path at the very top of the server window.
-
I forgot to mention that in order to create the 4.34 keyfile I used my carefully hand-crafted, organic, naturally grown and raised 4.33 keyfile and simply pasted Kolbe’s 4.34 additions to it, so it was basically ready for MFDE as well (although as I’ve said, my mfde server still happily uses the keyfile from my 4.33 install).
All the best, Uwe

Good morning, ricman,
I’m sorry for the late response…I’ve been away from the computer all week (using my tablet as I am now). I’ll check and see if I can get you better info later this weekend on what I did. Uwe helped me when I first started using this MFD extractor, so he may have an answer more quickly as he’s quite knowledgeable on this.
I’m not at all experienced with the whole thing. Took me a few hours last week to get my new key file and MFD extraction working, but it’s a labor of love so that I can play BMS. I could probably do it now in 1/2 hour, but that’s called “experience” right?
Between the manuals and the thoughtful folks here sharing their time/experience I’m slowly getting there!! The key file manual that gives the logic behind what a callback/keyfile code line means is invaluable to understanding the fundamentals that help with troubleshooting. It helped me figure out why COMM1 and COMM2 weren’t working…the MFD keyfile was using the incorrect button press instead of the current ones for those buttons.
Sorry to digress…bottom line, I’ll check this weekend once I’m back at the computer and we’ll see if my (very) limited skills can be useful!
All my best, Rob -
Okay, working. Seems the keyfile is the issue and not its location. I created a new keyfile for 4.34 (from the ‘bms-full’ found in the 4.34 install). When I loaded this keyfile in the 4.34 path it gave me the error I referred to in my first post ‘key does not match’. After reading the responses (thanks Uwe for that additional post) I copied my original 4.33 keyfile over to my 4.34 path and loaded that into the mfd server. I kept my new keyfile loaded in bms. When I tested this it worked! Note the keyfile loaded in the game does not have to match the file loaded in the mfd server. It seems as long as the keys for the ICP and the MFDs haven’t changed between versions then it will work.
I am not sure why the new keyfile I created doesn’t work since the icp keys hadn’t changed in that either? UPDATE: How dum do I have to be??!!:uham: The new keyfile includes the upper case ‘X’ by default. I expected to have to change it so I converted it to a lower case ‘x’ in my editor. In so doing I fixed a problem that didn’t exist!! SO. No need to use your old keyfile. If you are using Keyfile editor - just export your keyfile and its good to go. Load your new keyfile in the mfd server and fly!!!
Next I may check if it still works if I load the mfd server with the keyfile located in my bms 4.33 path.

has anyone a clean set of commands for 4.34?
I’m trying to clear it out and I got seriously puzzled as I find many duplicates.
In first post that says to add the following I found those as duplicates:
SimHsiHdgIncBy1 2
SimHSITcn 2
SimHSIIlsTcn 2
SimDecFuelSwitch 2
SimHsiCrsIncBy1 2
SimExtFuelTrans 2
SimHsiHeadingInc 2
SimFuelSwitchCenterExt 2
SimHSIModeInc 2
SimFuelSwitchNorm 2
SimHsiCrsDecBy1 2
SimFuelSwitchResv 2
SimHsiHdgDecBy1 2
SimFuelSwitchTest 2
SimHsiHeadingDec 2
SimFuelSwitchWingExt 2
SimHSIIlsNav 2
SimFuelSwitchWingInt 2
SimHSIModeDec 2
SimFuelTransWing 2
SimHSINav 2
SimHsiCourseDec 2
SimIncFuelSwitch 2
SimHsiCourseInc 2
SimFuelTransNorm 2So what’s the story?
The thing that got me super puzzled is that I found triple double duplicates in the BMS keyfile also, but this is not for this thread.

I just tried it on 4.34 but no keypress works. I checked the file and the call backs I entered are valid for 4.34.
Maybe something else prevents it operating in 4.34.Strange thing is that her ded and mfds work fine displaying the images and updates quickly.

Good evening,
If you guys would like, I can send you my keyfile to compare to. I know it works, even if I’m not sure always why!;)
Just let me know the best way to send.
All my best, Rob -
Use whatever u want.
Sendspace mediafire or post it with the code tags in a post.
Do you have separated the commands for the app.? If not is ok.
All buttons work in the app?Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-T818A using Tapatalk

Morning Arty,
there’s an easy way to look for duplicates like this in a file using cygwin or even Linux Subsystem for windows:
sort keyfile.key | uniq >sorted_keyfile.key
The “sort” command has numerous options (“man sort” or “sort -h”).
All the best, Uwe

?
Duplicates i can understand callbacks for dx stick and for keyboard.
More than 2 seems strange or not in my knowledge db.
Duplicates where spotted by me with excel and i got confused…Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-T818A using Tapatalk

I’ve got the same issue. It reads everything quite well. It’s even registering the correct button presses in the MFD Server on my PC. But, nothing happens in the cockpit. I’m sure it’s something simple, but I can’t figure it out.

Hi,
If you have both versions 4.33 and 4.34 installed, I suggest you to copy your key (4.34) in the path (4.33_path)/user/config then load it using “find key file” in the “MFD server” UI,
you will not need to do it next time, it works for meCheers

Tried it, didnt work. Might try it again.
And while we are here if the key file name gets long enough it causes bms to crash when loading it.Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-T818A using Tapatalk

well as I suspected… the duplicates mess up things.
Example simicpcom1 simicpcom2
they exist already in bms key file as:
SimICPCom1 122 0 0x3B 0 0 0 1 “ICP: COM1 Button - Push”
SimICPCom2 122 0 0x3C 0 0 0 1 “ICP: COM2 Button - Push”and pressing com1 on the app gives
Key Does Not Matchwhen setting those to
SimICPCom1 1011 0 0XB5 1 0X0 0 1 “ICP-COM1”
SimICPCom2 1091 0 0X37 1 0X0 0 1 “ICP-COM2”which I got from Komurcus x52 key file it works fine.
looks like komurcu’s app uses the xml file that it has stored in and not the keyfile you load?
trying to figure out… but with a 15" on my laptop is way hard to manage all that info.
will try those 2 commands and see how it goes. -
Good evening, gents,
As promised, here’s my keyfile. FYI, I use Windows 10, and I’m in the US so I use the US keyboard. I was unsuccessful attaching, so here’s a link:
https://1drv.ms/u/s!AuizVI9St9O_iAKBgxNsBUt089z1
Let me know if it helps. (FYI…the only function that I haven’t checked is the IFF as I’ve not used it yet)
All my best,

thanx RobfromME i’ll give it a go naked as is.
it works fine with no errors in the list
BUT
SimHmsSymWheelUp no key matchall others are ok.
EDIT: they are not ok all others. MFD buttons seem ok but ECM don’t work also HMCS and the autopilot fubars all it resets the airplane computer so you loose all until it reboots.
On the xml front i checked it and only 2 callbacks where different than mine so it’s not that either.
Komurcu are you looking at it whenever you have the time please?

Good morning, Arty,
My apologies! I’d forgotten that I haven’t used the HSI or CMDS/autopilot “pages” since using 4.34. I only checked the callbacks against the server for matching in 4.34. I use a single Samsung Galaxy A 10.1 and over the past few months of using the MFD extractor, I found I was only using the MFD, ICP, and flight data funtions and I never thought to check those that you found are AFU. I’m really sorry.
I must have just missed the one callback. I’ll check and see what I can find out and report back. Keep your expectations low, though, as I’m not very good with this “programming” as you’ve discovered!
Once again, please accept my apologies, Arty. Didn’t mean to mislead you.
All my best,

All my best,
Robno problem m8.
I’m just saying to notify and others. It would be bad to download it and fire up a mission and at the middle got it fubared.
as far as icp and mfd buttons works ok. so don’t use others for the time being.Though I believe Komurcu should look and maybe update with new callbacks also like flir and brightness and etc.
