Some issues with 3D surround
-
Edit3:
Since the release of U2, I have some issues with 3D surround.
When it is activated (nvidia configuration panel) then the game is not very well launching, I can even hear the tower asking for speeding the takeoff but I have gray screens.
I have to play with the shortcut activating 3D or with alt + tab or ctl + ins and wait at least 4 mn so that it can work. Even when it works in flight when I want to return to 2D it is not allowed and therefore it is 3D for the rest of the time (this occurs as well with previous version but was solved with U1).
I used two different versions of nvidia drivers 372.90 and 375.70
For nvidia inspector, I started from f4 allied force, replace the exe and change some settings to AA: 4xS and AA TSS: 2xsupersampling.
The rest has been solved by changing in Nvidia inspector (what I usually do for a triple screen setting) and it solved the problem:
Vertical Sync: force on
Vertical Sync smooth AFR behavior: on
Vertical Sync Tear Control: AdaptativeDoes someone have any idea how to fix this issue? Anyway for bms team to try to fix for the next update/release
Error message when going back to deskstop is nvidia drivers was restarted

I retried with latest balkans campaign and the issue is the same: difficult to have 3D surround works and I have to wait 3 to 4 mn more before being able to see the cockpit (error message is that nvidia driver has had to reload) and switching several times to desktop before eventually to have it working but even in this case, it is not possible to return to 2D as I have ghost images.

Not sure what to say on this one as I also run in surround mode 6010x1080 with 372.90 with no issues on 4.33.2. The one major difference is that I haven’t had to use Inspector for quite some time and all of my settings are through BMS or the standard NVidia driver 3D settings area. I make settings there specifically for BMS and don’t have it use the standard settings. Vsync controlled via BMS and AA/AF controlled through the NVidia driver. It works just fine for me. No delays or gray screens and certainly no waiting xx amount of time for a usable BMS or a display driver restart. I would also suggest a Display Driver Uninstaller use in between driver upgrades to make sure things are cleaned out nice and good as NVidia is a rather sloppy un-install left to it’s own devices.

I use 3D surround and have no issues like described here… I would get DDU and uninstall those drivers and reinstall either the same ones or be brave and try the new ones…
Also I would not use the AF.exe to fix BMS. I don’t use it for BMS it could just be corrupted drivers…

Back to the issue (not that the previous one was solved, it was still there: accessing by being persistent). Same config than on my first post, this time with BMS 4.34 and with the Nvidia drivers of February 2019.
Everything is fine without 3D
With 3D Surround on, I have only very briefly a distorted image of the owner logo, then a blackish center screen with the in game music on. I can only move my mouse cursor in the center screen (out of 3) and as I cannot see the UI screen I cannot progress further and the only way out is ctrl+alt+del and forcing the shut down from BMS
I tried windowed mode, deleting the dx9 file, deleting any Falcon profile from NVInspector, creating a new one with no settings actived, with Vsync on or off from the game, activating 3D from a pause game, etc. (everything I could find in the forum). Nothing is working.
I am always installing my Nvidia drivers the cleanest way possible (searching from any traces of the previous ones and cleaning with ccleanear before installing the new ones) so the issue is probably not coming from that part.
Any idea? -
Bad cards? Have you tried just using one GPU and not SLI? Might be SLI that is not compatible with BMS. I have been using Surround since 4.32 with no problems. Using latest drivers now with 4.34 no issues. Started with AMD cards 5770 to 6970 and nvidia cards 960 to 980Ti and using just one 1070 now.

Thanks for the feedback. No I didn’t use only one GPU without SLI but even if it was working what would be the point? With only one card connected the way they are connected to my screens (I cannot connect a single card to my triple screen setup) I would only enjoy 3D on one screen which is a no go.
If this was only a problem with SLI I wouldn’t have 3D surround in DCS M2000C Nevada map would I (I have just rechecked today)? Last time I checked 3D surround was also working well with Asseto Corsa, Dirt Rally etc.
So it is for me a specific issue with BMS 4.34 and my config.
My Nvidia drivers are 419.17 whql -
This post is deleted! -
Might be BMS then? Old graphics engine and all that? Sorry, didn’t realize you were talking 3D plus Surround.

I have to say that I would very much like that the UI could be changed and not code-blocked so that it is compatible to the game resolution…
I noticed yesterday that even activating/creating a new NVI profile and modifying some settings is sufficient to have an UI distorted and for me not being able to proceed further with the simulator (no access to anything). I had to delete the NVI profile
In fact even with the previous version I was active on: 4.32 I think that I was managing to have it worked (3D surround) with a lot of difficult but it was most probably on the 32bit exe. -

The issue isn’t SLI or Surround by themselves. I’ve been using that specific config of SLI and surround for BMS windowed mode for the last 6-7 years. Various drivers and 4.32 to current and I do not have those specific issues. Unless he is talking about something other than the standard NVidia Surround.

I think he is talking 3D as well, not just Surround?
-
No I am only talking of 3D Nvidia surround (not just 3D as I am not interested in testing 3D on only one screen, as 3D surround is working for example with DCS) and due to my config I need to use SLI as I cannot connect 3 screens with only one of my GC.
Once Nvidia 3D surround is activated, BMS 4.34 UI turns to a black screen on the main monitor with nothing clickable. For me it is due to the coding of the UI that is not adapting to the original screen resolution (something that maybe could have been fixed years ago, but maybe it is too difficult to fix) -
Just to clarify, 3D and Surround are different things, right? You can have 3D in just one monitor (I assume you wear 3D glasses?) and you can have 3D across 3 monitors tied into Surround?
AFAIK, the UI screen res is hardcoded and thus nearly impossible to change.
-
Yes PutYawa, it is also my understanding. I could disable SLI and run 3D on one monitor but I don’t see the point…I prefer 3 monitors withoud 3D in this case.
I have just notice one piece on information from Nvidia latest drivers dated May 2019 (not on the drivers that I use as I have the February’s one):
Following the posting of the final driver from Release 418 on April 11, 2019 GeForce Game Ready Drivers will no longer support NVIDIA 3D Vision or systems utilizing mobile Kepler-series GPUs. Critical security updates will be available for these products through April 2020. A complete list of Kepler-series GeForce GPUs can be found here. -

Never really played with 3D put flying with 3 monitors and no issues.
