Holding Procedure
-
Hello Forum.
BMS COMMS & NAV manual page 91, penultimate paragraph…"If the aircraft was coming from the North East on a 220…
I understand the Direct Entry approach with a 315 heading, but I’m confused with the 220 NE approach.
The pilot overflies the the entry point and will remain South of the holding area (1) how far South? (2) is he flying East on 090, ie the outbound leg?
He intercepts the holding radial inbound which is 270, (3) does he do that by turning North and then aligning with 270?
Finally, why is a 20 degree angled line from the entry point used?
Many thanks to Red Dog for this and the other 4.34 manual suite. I’ve received five from Lulu, they’re excellent.
Regards
Bayonet.

It looks like this. Aircraft is in the NE sector and heading 220.
