4.34 Not Responding While Loading Missions
-
Came back to BMS and saw the need to update to 4.34 so I uninstalled 4.33 and did a clean install but now when I try to load missions it goes to a black screen and task manager says the application isn’t responding. I reinstalled 4.33 once and it worked fine so it’s only 4.34 that’s having this problem for me. I’ve tried to do another clean install but to no avail. Has anyone else found a solution to this?
Is the mission you want to load is built with 4.33 or with 4.34 ?

Have just used default key profiles (have my own saved separately from the bms install). I’ve tried with the basic TE/instant action and loading one of the new campaigns in 4.34. While loading the campaign (waiting to go to ramp, taxiway,or runway) I can hear the audio just fine until it goes to load the plane itself then the same black screen, no audio, and application not responding problem appears. Windows event viewer doesn’t show any apparent errors caused by the application either. I’m starting to think it might be a driver issue as I’ve uninstalled and re downloaded it completely and the problem still occurs.

From here: https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?35505-Falcon-BMS-4-34-Full-Installer
Enabling “Triple Buffering” in the config may lead to a black screen when entering 3D (also, do not use Triple Buffering with GSync/FreeSync)
Could it be this?

I re downloaded 3.34 from that same link via the torrent this morning to no avail. I don’t use any sync but I checked the user .cfg file and “set g_bTripleBuffering 0” is set to 0 so triple buffering is turned off.

Try running BMS in a window.
Shortcut properties, in Target:
“#:\Falcon BMS 4.34\Launcher.exe” -window
Then force a lower-then desk top resolution in setup, turn off AA etc
-
Try this: BMS ICON>properties>compatibility>check ‘disable fullscreen optimization’ box and hit apply.

Well i’ll be damned setting it in windows fixed the problem! Didn’t need to mess with the resolution or AA settings either. I wonder what caused the problem in the first place but thank you so much Shadow!

After having it worked in window I tried this and it worked as well without needing to put it into windowed mode. Thanks!

I knew in my bones I was missing something.
Not being an Nvidia user I had forgotten about Fullscreen Optimization.
Good outcome….Happy Hunting.
