Multiple campaign .. And use of Stand alone Nevada red flag theatre.
-
Hi… I have a couple questions you may be able to help me with.
1. Is there any way to run multiple campaigns at the same time? One day Korea, next day carrier operations etc.2. On running the stand alone red flag theatre it seems impossible to get out and select another theatre without uninstalling it. Any ideas please. It looks like a fun place to train.
3. Is there any servers that allow you to join in just air to air combat in BMS. I know there is DCS and War thunder that may be ok but I’m not interested in them and would prefer BMS hence I’m asking here. I’m not able to devote time to a virtual squadron and planned operations at this time.
Thanks for your help

for question number 3, you will have to be a little more specific in terms of what you are looking for. Falcon Onlines campaigns are probably the closest thing to what you are looking for, but more detail would help.
For question two, the Falcon Online theaters have frustratingly hidden certain buttons in the UI, because they can. The theater select button is camouflaged in basically all of them. Look for a small icon which appears out of place.
The primary question, again more detail is probably needed. You can save where you get to in a campaign, and then run a different one, save that and go back to the original one… Is that what you are looking for?

If it is like Battle for Balkans then it will be in the upper left of the screen and say the theater’s name or something like that. You can click on that and change the theater.

I’ll assume this is a request to make the theater button larger /more visible?

Specific to the Red Flag theater, the size of the button is not so much the concern, as is that the button is not obviously a button, nor is it obvious what it does.
Once you work it out, its not that big a deal - but I guess in the OPs case, if you need to open a thread to ask how to change back, its not obvious enough.
I think its pretty cool that a UI element can be taken out of the regular location along the top and put where it was, with the different presentation and whatnot - but I dont think doing so was in this case a good example of great UI design. Looks cool, and is cool from a proof of concept point of view - but it didnt do any favors for the users.
So yeah, I guess this makes the thread a request to make the theater button more obvious that it is a theater button.

It was planned to be a large button in the lower left corner, but I simply skipped it cause it looked out of place (in hindsight…) and just mapped it to the theater icon which gives a visual cue to which theater is actually loaded.
The UI re-work was and still is a WIP. It’s also a major PITA to have to mirror changes between BFB & RedFlag as I unfortunately didn’t completely decouple all of the resource dependencies, so it’s not an efficient process. Not to mention haven’t had the chance to apply the new UI to BFB yet.
It’s a valid observation, and considering the BMS UI code will probably not see an overhaul in the near future it may be worth spending some time doing some polishing with my revision.

IIRC when you change theaters, you need to exit the SIM completely, then re-enter.

Just to be clear, are we talking about Nevada or Korea here? I’m not seeing any new Nevada…just want to make sure I didn’t miss something big!

Probably a typo. Just turn side. No need to wake up.
