No FLIR or TFR is needed. I try again, modify 000 benchmark test TE fly at 2300 hrs. F-16CM-52, TGP and FLIR not set up, just start in air. Big green sky is overcast clouds.

OK, I think I find issue or bug. I use TFR TE for test, but not even turn on jet, just test NVG.
Top image is default, no NVG
Middle image is NVG using ToggleNVGMode (sorry, I crop resolution to 1 screen)
Bottom image is NVG using SimNVGModeOnMaybe confirm is you have same issue using the different callback? Thank you

A little more testing I find that is possible turn on NVG by ToggleNVGMode and again turn on NVG by SimNVGModeOn
Top image is only ToggleNVGMode
Bottom image is ToggleNVGMode then SimNVGModeOn -
I don’t know you, mate, but on my own, if it is really so, I won’t regret to use it never again.
Next time, I’d better to light up a torch, instead. :lol:With best regards.

Sorry Jackal but I do not understand what you say. I now identify issue being of using the callback, but if switchstate callback do not make same result as toggle callback, plus switchstate callback can affect toggle callback, then maybe this is bug?
-
I was a little too much unclear, sorry for that.
About the possible bug there, perhaps it’s going just the like you suggested about.
I actually tried to express that in the last screenshot particularly the nightvision zone is too much bright, for my eyes at least.
At this point, almost no object is clearly identifiable, even granting that we currently are, I guess, in the parking area, so in a well lighted one.
At this point, I can hardly find it as an useful tool - and a speech of Dee-Jay about how it is used in RL came to my mind. It’s only that. Thanks a lot anyway, your efforts made me learn something I never suspected being so before.
With best regards.

It is very bright because at start of TE, sun is still above horizon and directly faceing pilot. See image in post #7, so area is very bright and really no need of NVG.
But correct use of NVG or not correct use is not the issue, it is pointing out odd behavior of switchstate vs toggle callback for NVG. -
Well, I already noticed all these, to be honest.
And I agree with all your points, but please let me insist on this: from my own point of view, at least, it could not help me in night flying if not really giving me a true advantage…
With best regards.

So far I have not been able to duplicate this. Are you able to upload your TE so I can try it??
Thanks

Crap! Yes, you mentioned that earlier.

Just curious PutYawa-when you go to NVG mode are you pushing the “N” key?? Or do you using keystrokes on your HOTAS to turn-on or toggle the NVG’s???
