No video in Falcon MFD Extrator from NTO Polar Vortex ver 1.8
-
Hi!
In the first version of Add-on NTO Polar Vortex for 4.34, I did not get any video when using Falcon MFD Extrator ver 0_6_3_0 in Helios. Everthing was OK in Add-on Balkans for 4.34.
In the last ver 1.8 of NTO Polar Vorex, I still have this problem. In Balkans everything is OK.
Do anyone else have this problem, and a fix for it?Best Regards

Good morning, dear mate.
Nothing weird to notice about with the 1.8 version here.
Please excuse me if this may sound too obvious, but the same let me ask this:
are you sure you have the correct video codecs already installed in your system?
Please check it before, and if not there must be a proper topic in this Forum, maybe in the same Theater section.
We happened to have that issue for this reason some time ago and we solved it this way. With best regards.

Good afternoon Jackal, and thanks for a well done job with the Polar Vortex!
I will check for correct installed video codec. But, is Balkans using a different codec than the Polar Vortex? Everything is working in my Balkans install.
My Win 10 install is doing auto updates for me, but I have no control over what is beeing updated.
Last time I experienced this issue, the quick fix was to stop and start the Falcon MFD Extractor while BMS is running. This is not a quick fix for me this time.

Good afternoon to you too, dear MLU.
And thanks a lot for your so kind appreciation, but I did a little, to be honest, if compared to the huge lot by the devs.
To your question, anywyay: I don’t think the codecs are different for theater to theater, so one could fit all.
Or so it should be in a perfect world, I guessWait, I have another suggestion for you here: what about tring to uninstall the previous version of the codecs and install the latest one?
Please don’t forget, in this case, to give a good clean to registry after having done that. Theare are a pair of very good, a free, programs to do it properly.Or, in alternative, try to install the new version if you already haven’t.
In both cases, the purpose is the same: install them form scratch and see waht happens after. Please keep us informed further, I’m wishing you good luck in succeeding.
With best regards.

MLU , check extractor and see if you got 4.34 chosen as installation folder in: Performance/falcon bms advanced option

Thanks, you are a genius Boldhead…
Anyway, do not understand why it works in Balkans.
UPDATE: It did not work for me, but still, Balkans is working fine…

Hi again!
last time i had this problem, I postet this tread:As we see, same problem still, but this old fix do not solve it. Do anyone else have this issue?
Best regards

Boldhead found a sort of fix.
If you do a repair of the Falcon MFD Extractor (reinstall it, click repair), while Polar Vortex running. Go to Options, select Performance - Falcon Advanced Options - Set folder, Enable exporting etc etc and 16-bit color, then OK. Go to Networking, select Server - Apply, Select Standalone again, Apply.
If you are Lucky, MFD-video will show up in your external screen for the mission you select. You may have to do this again for the next mission. Conclusion, there is a bug in Polar Vortex regarding MFD-video on external screens, and codec is not an issue.
Thanks Brig Boldhead, my sqd leader.

I am uninstalling Polar Vortex, no point getting disapointed every second time starting it without any MFD-video.
Check six…

Interestingly I have the same problem in EMF 1.04.
In KTO the MFDE works, in EMF its not. I have it setup via network, as I run my MFD Screens via a second computer. -
Korbi, a friend of me found a solution.
We use the MFD extractor for all instruments, easier to place them on the second screen, and the game possability to extract MFD’s. Take some time to find the right MFD position on the screen, but worth the time spent. -
RTTClient also works nicely for MFD extraction (check your tools or utils folder).
As I was having problems with MFD extraction in YAME I’m now using a merry mix of RTT (MFDs) and YAME (gauges)
All the best,
Uwe
