DeeJay's Voice Activaded Commands (VAC) Profiles

@Jebus:
Since IFF is not implemented yet, why not use a shifted PTT on either T5(IFF out) or T4(IFF in) on the cougar for VAC or Shoot, that way T2(VHF) & T3(UHF) can be used for IVC and teamspeak.
Yep, that works fine for me. I’m using T5 for Ventrilo and T4 for VAC.
If only I could get VAC to work properly though. I still can’t get it to accept any registration code {sigh}.

You must ask for a new key to custumer support … key code has changed recently (from 16 digits codes to 24 IIRC)

The reason I say shifted is because you may need the comms left(T5) and right(T4) to get your package to show correctly on the Data linkcause u can have data link in this… like on off. More realistic for my likes.

Dee-Jay:
Do you have an alternate download site since megaupload is in the hands of the FBI now??
Thx Pferret

I don’t think DeeJay will mind me hosting it temporarily for him:

Thanks RAM (and DJ)… Will try it now… I think it should add a nice touch to the sim.

Dee Jay,
Clicked the link you posted originally in this thread and got this:
Hope I get home safely tonight?!

@RAM22:
I meant the link to the VAC was not working for a while after you made the post.;)

Anyone knows where microsoft saves the speech training file. I like to save it for future use so I don´t have to sit and read it all over again next time I update my computer.
-
Ram22,
Funny that… I actually do a pretty good Donald Duck.
h.kan,
Found this on the net…
"1.
When performing training through the Control Panel training UI, the system stores the training files in “{AppData}\Local\Microsoft\Speech\Files\TrainingAudio”. Do the audio training files HAVE to be stored in this location, or can I store them elsewhere as long as the registry entries for the profile reflect the correct path?
1.The Speech Control Panel creates registry entries for the training audio files in the key “HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Speech\RecoProfiles\Tokens{ProfileGUID}{00000000-0000-0000-0000-0000000000000000}\Files”.a) Do the registry entries created by my training code HAVE to be placed in “{00000000-0000-0000-0000-0000000000000000}\Files” or can I create a new random GUID under {ProfileGUID}?
b) Does the subkey HAVE to be named “Files”?
c) And do the registry values HAVE to follow the form “TrainingAudio-xxxx-xxxxxxxx-xxxxxxxx” or can I use other values?
d) Finally, the Registry Value Data is of the form “%1c%\Microsoft\Speech\Files\TrainingAudio\SP-xxx…xxx”. Can I specify an absolute path?
e) Do the file names HAVE to follow the form “SP-xxx…xxx.wav” or can I use any unique file names? "
Hope it helps

English version for those sans ordinateurs:
Can you repost? Or… Check PM.

If at first you don’t succeed…
Caveat remains that I still haven’t tested this as I still can’t get VAC to work {sigh} even though I paid for the registered version. The author is trying to work out a fix.
Best of luck!

Just want to say that the VAC is working superb.
I use DeeJay´s file and edit it to my keyfile.then I programmed my hotas (foxy file) so I hold in the S3 and just activate uhf or vhf and then talk.
I find for now that I use VAC “arm” for the best control, but migh use the default instrat, where I shall hold in the S3 + the uhf or vhf to talk.And it works soooo great.
Now I got a lot of push switches free in my pitKukki

Ron aka Shift_E (author of VAC) has finally cracked it and I’m up and running with VAC, in fact it’s working better than I had hoped.
I have comprehensively edited the file, removed a lot of duplication around wingman commands and generally made it more to my taste. I use Dunc’s excellent Dunc_DX keyfile so have chosen F8 as my arming key for VAC (as it’s not used for anything else) and have mapped this to my Cougar radio switch (pinky + IFF in/COMMS right). For those with a similar setup you just need to open up Foxy and add the following:
Add this to the bottom of your .tmj (joystick) file:
Rem ### Map F8 to COMMS right (IFF In) for Voice Activated Commands BTN T4 /I VAC /O /H DX22
Add this to the bottom of your .tmm (macro) file:
VAC = F8
If you do want to give this a try be my guest, click here.
Thank you again to Dee-Jay for sharing his template and getting me started on this.

DJ,
I’ve used and loved Shoot for as long as I can remember… However, recently now using Win7 I do encounter problems with shoot from time to time, not making it 100% effective. So I am considering an alternate program.
Can VAC use two different switch functions to trigger the voice commands? What I mean is with shoot I can use two switch commands to open or transmit my voice commands so I can use both VHF and UHF comm swtich movements to simulate what radio I am on.

Don’t have IVC on my Laptop … but IIRC … unfortunately no, only one. (need to be checked!)

@Marvin
With my Cougar HOTAS, I use Shifted VHF to tx VHF as well as PTT VAC. Similarly I use Shifted UHF for tx UHF and same PTT for VAC.This simple approach enables me to tx VAC commands on UHF or VHF as I see fit. In a MP environment it ensures that tx to the tower are audible to any other aircraft or package working around the same base, and conversely flight only VAC comma are limited to my flights VHF frequency.
By placing VAC on the shifted state, aim still able to tx more freely on both channels, unshifted, without having to worry about VAC misinterpreting a conversation for a command.
I am sure a similar approach is doable on other HOTAS capable of shifted states and executing multiple commands simultaneously.
If you have a COUGAR I can send you my profile. It’s based on Wizards and now includes all Korean airbases as well as most “fighter” call signs.

I’ve had to stop using VAC in MP because it made my incoming IVC volume too low. No idea why but when I didn’t have it running I could hear people again just fine. I tried turning the volume in IVC up all the way to 6.0 but it was still too quiet to make out what people were saying. They on the other hand could hear me just fine. I looked in Volume Mixer in Windows to see if there was an application I could adjust the volume for but neither IVC nor VAC had a seperate tab.
Has anyone else had this issue? If so, how did you get round it?
