4.34 setup with ICE's HELIOS profile and YAME64
-
Hello. Just downloaded and installed 4.34 Had been running 4.33 with ICE’s single touchscreen profile and YAME64 before and it was all working fine, but I remember how hard it was to finally get it to that point! I had not used BMS for a couple months and when I returned it was now at 4.34 So as I said I DL’d and installed 4.34. What I would like to know before I jack up all the settings irreparably again, is 1) whether ICE’s profile for 4.33 will still work with 4.34?? and 2) what about the YAME64 part? If not, can anyone please point me to the post that shows us what new files we need and what other things must be done to comply with 4.34? Thank you all very much!

Well….were do I start. The Yame64 site has a page dedicated to using the current Yame64 V1.2 with BMS 4.34 https://www.yame64.com/how-to/. As for Ice’s Helios 4.33 profile. I know there are several people that have modified it to use with 4.34 without doing too much to it. If you’re just looking to get a working key file for 4.34 then probably your best bet is to add all the new callbacks in 4.34 to your existing key file that works with 4.33. Obviously make a copy just in case you need to revert to it. One you add the new callbacks I’d do lots of testing before really relying on a blind edit like that.
You’ll find all the new callbacks for 4.34 listed in the following file
[BMS Install]/Docs/01 Input Devices/New Key File Functions.txtgood luck!

Even so I don’t use the Ice Helios Profile, but a self-made Helio’s and Yame64 V1.2 with BMS 4.34 setup. The one thing - at least in my configuation - to run properly on Win10, was to ensure that all 3 parts Helios Control Center, Yame64 Client and BMS Launcher have to be started as Administrator. If not Yame wasn’t extracting from sharedmem and BMS not receiving keystrokes from Helios.
SettingHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Benchmark Sims\Falcon BMS 4.33 U1
baseDir line from C:\Falcon BMS 4.33 U1 to C:\Falcon BMS 4.34 (change this to reflect your own BMS 4.34 install path).was a must not only to get the “Launch Falcon” Button active but to get YAME64 to extract at all from BMS 4.34

Ice profile works in 4.34, but cannot remember if this is same profile as his last release for 4.33. I read somewhere (reddit? hoggit?) that he release 4.34-compatible Helios profile but only to a few persons, I don’t think he update his blog page.
