F-18 Ramp Start Problem

Try this…leave throttle on idle, spool RPM to 25%, once it hits 25% Alt-I, move throttle to 20% and right back to idle this should do it.

ThanksHere’s an older one (v4.33):
Note this correction in the comments: “At approx 0:10 seconds, Air Source should be 1 Click to ‘L Off’. Otherwise, if done as shown, you will get a ‘Canopy’ Warning at around 27,000 feet.”
I don’t know what, if anything, has changed since updating to 4.34.

i fly everyday the hornet and obviously no problem, you are doing something wrong

I found out the idle detent button “Alt-i” did not work in my key file so the engine did not start. I mapped it to another key so it works perfect now.
but another issue with the Ramp start, the INS never get RDY (ready) so there is no navigation on the HUD and the right MFD. I loaded the DTE, DL link and switched button to NAV but nothing happened, anybody please help? -

I loaded the DTE, DL link and switched button to NAV but nothing happened, anybody please help?I tested the F-18 ramp start in BMS 4.33 and the INS worked perfectly after loading DTE and switching navigation button on the right panet to NAV position. The INS never get to “RDY” (ready status) with the F-18 ramp start in BMS 4.34, and the plane has no navigation cues in both HUD and MFD so I can fly but no headings, no waypoint map and don’t know where to go :rofl: all F-18 ramp start videos are for BMS 4.33 only. Anybody has this issue with the F-18 ramp start in 4.34?

INS problem was corrected in BMS 4.34 update 4. Please be sure you have installed all updates.
I can ramp start the F-18C normally in carrier operations. -

I can ramp start the F-18C normally in carrier operations.Oh noted, thank you! I went back to 4.34 original because there’re a bug since update 1 which causes all naval ships unable to fire a single shot at enemy A/C…Destroyers with formidable guided missiles become easy targets :? waiting for update 5…

If you want to play without any updates you can do IN FLIGHT ALIGNMENT after take off from carrier.

Do you have any video link for in flight alignment?
-
i know what it is. look at the fuel panel and make sure the indicator says norm. If not push the button beside it that i think says norm on it

I don´t have any video.
Just follow these steps:- after take off change INS switch to IN FLT ALIGN position(try to stay level flight - don´t do hard maneuverings);
- in INS screen at DED wait until count 4.0 or 6.0(i don´t remember exactly) or up;
- then change INS switch to NAV.
Done, have fun!

That´s not INS related.
You have to change the fuel panel indicator from OFF to NORM during ramp start, otherwise the engines will shut down during flight. -

IFF - i just press TMS left.
Jammer - during ramp press mouse left click at these switches “ecm xmit, dispenser bypass and aux rel enable”. They are located close to de HSI. Then map “SimECMOn” to your keyboard or joystick. -

Don´t know whats wrong on your side. Maybe other users can help.
Edit: I remembered now! You have to map “aux: master mode norm” to your keyboard or joystick, then TMS left for IFF scan.
I don´t remember if there is a switch in the cockpit.
