Havent worked on the map so much yet. Cause i haven made the terrain as i want. Meaning. I probably start from scratch. There’s a lot issues in the original

OK i have to major issues (obviously i need to re-do the objectives as well) therefore even i did tiled the whole terrain in game it seems it is off, i used the terrain exported from dem2terrain any ideas on that?

The terrain doesn’t get exported from dem2terrain.
It’s laid down by the terrain.bin and the terrain texture’s randomly when you create a theater, it just fills it in.
Sadly, that is where manual tiling begins, that’s another big issue with 128 segment theaters, it’s a ton of work!
There are way’s to make it easier, even then, it’s a huge job….this is where most novice theater builders end up stuck!!

Here a first flight up in the mountainous North… Still need a bit more height in mountains…
Also to do list : Relocate objectives (not all of them those that are off completely) level airbases and fix minor hickups here and there in tiling… Tile set used the old 4.32 vietnam one and its good i think… greener than the current one as i i see in almost all satelite images of Vietnam. Might make a new set i dont know yet if it isnt too much for my paygrade Im open to suggestions ill post some plains hotos as well later… need to fix some stuff first

The original ones (vietnam 4.34) are to “dry” and too brown for my taste, i tried Korean i dont think they match to the theater… I find those (vietnam 4.32 Beta) Much better in all aspects to my taste at least and also they have some variation i can use (after all they are more than 1000 tiles if i remember correct). I will see as i said i might make completely new sets for it…

hmmm… i dont have any lines for nations… ill see what i can do though about it It seems that the Dong Hoi thing (though ill do more tests) was tackled by of course giving it to the blue. Now testing the divisions role in the behaviour of the brigades… it seems the closer to the flot the better (so they dont run back) If it was something that is well known sorry i didnt knew it! I started lately the campaigning

Thanks but it seems like every effort is a waste of time… I dont know whats wrong but i cannot get the Units start the actual war besides the airforces. I re-did everything. Re-laced (old but different) tiles, re-do most of the cities from scratch (theater has 1000+ objectives less than the original and kept the original count of the bridges), every obj placed on a road tile, vilages moved to better locations to work at the same time as interesections (not too far i dont wanna be unreal). Of course objectives up north on the mountains with 0 significance to the “war” had deleted. Fixed the paths on the road/urban tiles. Still when a campaign starts the GU’s dont budge unless i have an already “taken” objective adn even so when they secure it they stay there or get back. I even trying now an even more modern era campaign with Vietnam united. Basically Thailand+Laos against Vietnam+Cambodia (that might change if i see some movement) thinking that the map is the problem and by saying the map meaning the way the countries are placed. Still the same the first tests are failure… Im starting to get tired of it. On a side note i made also a 64 seg one but havent had the time to fix all the things needed for it It:
I will see but the future doesnt seem bright for the 128seg theater. Im almost out of ideas/combinations…. As i said before i want a fully working campaign and not one that needs from the start human controlled or “headless” units. i want a campaign to work as better as it can.

My only help would be to create a campaign from scratch. Start with few units and get it to work. From there on slowly add and expand. While testing everything still works. And by work I mean winning campaigns, both sides to be able to achieve the trigger objectives.
Also start with simple trigger files, only the basic events first, stalemate, blue win, red win etc then slowly add events to it.
Sometimes even a simple typo (wrong team somewhere) in a trigger file could break the campaign.Hope this can help you.

Thanks, Ill try as well with only few triggers and fewer units to see. The campaign im trying is from scratch. Also the one i tried with the north south. Will check mostly the trigg file maybe theres a typo there or something that doesnt work as it should… but guys that know about that stuff that saw it said it looks fine so beats me on that… but for sure ill try i more simple one to see.
Still fixing links and bridges though! LOL. With the tile set i use its not all tiles “road-pathed” so now if there isn’t a path the units dont move. So i have to be really careful about the links, MC does a really good work on starting links but after that it needs work…
