Voice Attack plugin for BMS. Cockpit, Radio and much more (Updated to 4.37_U3)
-
Thing is he learned how to interface with BMS and read and react to data from BMS, instead of just doing just timed sequences
-
In addition VoiceAttack is used to send the phrase to the plugin which takes care of analyzing the phrases and pressing all the keys.
I found that letting the plugin ‘press’ all the keys is much more efficient. No need to go back and forth.
The profile therefore has only 4 spoken commands + 2-3 setup command -
I am impressed but for a different reason. How did you mange to make VA to understand you so well? For me, it understands “remove chocks”, but it does not understand “install chocks” for example. “remove safety EPU pin” would be too much to ask for and it never gets recognized … as well as a lot of other “normal” menu commands

From VA Manual –

absolute requirement, however, the difference between a trained and untrained system
is like night and day.
Hint: Start in Control Panel… I ran the trainer three times in a row & now recognition
works great!

Usually recognition issues are resolved by training up the recognition engine (completely through, three times). In addition to that, you can train a specific word after that, if it is giving you trouble. I used to have a seriously hard time getting my VA to recognize “8” or “eight”, so I opened the VA Options, to the Recognition tab, and the small menu there for Utilities > Add/Remove Dictionary Words. Select ‘record pronunciation’ when finished, to record your actual speech for this word.
When you are done, you can save your WSR profile so you never have to do it again (unless your voice or mic changes enough to be different) - helpful for swapping to a new computer, too…

Thanks for the Profile backup tool!
I agree - the key is to train you speech engine.
I did it several times and after replacing my mic I did it a few more times.Do you know if you can reset the speech recognition DB? I would have liked to do that after I got a new microphone.

Once you have started WSR for the first time, you’ll likely have one WSR Profile - this cannot be deleted, it has to have at least one. IIRC you can make another one, and delete the previous one, or just leave the new one as the selected WSR profile.
Find these in the Control Panel\Ease of Access\Speech Recognition under the ‘Advanced speech options’ on the left.

I added a command which now reads your keyfile and adds keybinding to all the unbound callbacks

This is impressive ! Thank you for sharing your work.

Great job man! This thing is gonna be so very useful!!!

Wow! I just watched your video and that looks really cool!
Even the “little” things, like freezing the sim, or show/hide pilot, would be so handy to do with voice commands.
When I was watching/hearing you issue those voice commands, the words “think in Russian” kept going through my head. I feel like I’m going to stride calmly to my BMS Viper through the chaos of a bombed hangar and climb up the boarding ladder in my black flight suit and black helmet. Ramp start real quick and taxi out before they can close the hangar door.
Thanks for working on this!

The plugin is in stable enough for downloading and is currently supporting these theaters:
“Israel”,
“Korea KTO”,
“Kuwait”,
“Balkans”,
“NTO Polar Vortex” -
A new Update for the plugin.
Many new commands added, among these are command to control all the ICP buttons and pages. Commands to set QNH, EHSI course & heading.
The latter are extremely helpful e.g. when setting new heading during Delila attacks.
Added new filter to the “Phrase From” which will assist you in finding new and special command.
If you want to get the most out of the plugin, which has many useful commands, I advise to read the new section regarding the Phrase Form in the plugin document. -
Version updated to JanJan V0.8.952.0.
With new commands, among them commands to control the ICP, adding radio commands for carrier and other enhancement. -
Need to get help with janjan. I have installed the latest version but not having any luck getting it to work.
When I start Voice Attack, it loads janjan it it recognizes nearly every single word I say except it say Falcon not loaded. This is understandable since I haven’t loaded it yet. I start Falcon and talk but nothing happens. It doesn’t repeat acknowledge I spoke and the command is not followed. When I shut Falcon down and during the shutdown, I can here it finally acknowledge half of my first spoken command which was the request taxi with the response Falcon 1-1……
I have tried setting it up for current window and the Falcon BMS.exe file. Is there something I’m missing to get this to work? Am I doing something wrong? I am using the AVCS4 Immersive Voice Control Radios for VoiceAttack and it works but can’t understand why janjan will not.
Thanks for any help

I am using the AVCS4 Immersive Voice Control Radios for VoiceAttack and it works but can’t understand why janjan will not. Thanks for any help
For the record, JanJan’s awesome plugin & profile combo is a fully featured voice control suite for BMS (including radios), and AVCS4 Falcon BMS Radios (for radio menus only) is not required by JanJan’s plugin, and his plugin is not required by my AVCS4 Falcon BMS Radios profile. We have simply made sure that no one runs into errors for the most part in case they run these two profiles at the same time. If you continue to have problems after following the instructions below, consider not using AVCS4 and trying to only use the JanJan profile and plugin alone.
So I don’t give JanJan headaches, I have made AVCS4 BMS Radios fully compatible with JanJan’s Plugin for BMS - but you must first follow his instructions to import his JanJanBMS_plugin Profile into VoiceAttack in order for it to work at all:
Next, since you want these commands to be available to you from another profile (AVCS4 BMS Radios , in this example), you open the AVCS4 BMS Radios Profile to edit it, then open the Options, then click the box “…” to “Include commands from other profiles” - next you click the “+” to select the JanJan profile from the list of all your profiles. When done, click “OK” on all the windows to apply the change:
When you load VoiceAttack, first load the JanJan plugin profile, next, switch to the AVCS4 Falcon BMS Radios profile.
As an alternative to this, you can set JanJan profile to be your primary profile (recommended) so it always loads first whenever you open VoiceAttack, and you can even open VoiceAttack options to set the JanJan profile commands as “global” to persist across all profiles, including AVCS4 Falcon BMS Radios (instead of setting this inside the AVCS4 BMS Radios profile).
