¡Saludos!
-
most impressive!
Really nice model.
Looooove the thick canopy frames. Adds weight to the modelThe only thing I can see is that the nose cone (on the skin, not the model) should be drawn backward towards the canopy, making it about 25-30% bigger. If you compare it with your pic you posted at the top, you see what I mean.
And If you release the skin template I’ll down load it and give that blue/gray paintjob a shot, that’s for shure!
Really good job m8

wow fabulous for a learner this looks way pro

jajaj ok volvamos al inglés. I was working in a skin for the MB-339 for the FAA and the FAP but have only one slot for the skin. So, this wip is for the C version too?
Abrazo Hermano!

Good observation, thanks!
The radome in the Mirage 2000D houses the Antilope 5-3C terrain-following radar, which has a smaller power unit/transmitter and a smaller dish (hence the size of the radome). Ours are rather simple conversion trainers and, unlike the single seaters, don’t have an RDM1 radar fitted (ballast sits where the radar is supposed to be). But I’m planning to strap a good old RDY to mine and make it a true multirole fighter (5Mk2-ish) with MICA BVRAAMs and all Skin-wise, of course, as the aircraft as it is modelled in Falcon has a radar built in by default.
So, this wip is for the C version too?
-D version only, as the -C/-5/-EGM variants use completely different texture maps altogether, so I would have to make an entirely new template for those. Plus, I’m hoping that Buzzz will eventually release his single seater model
-
Oh, BTW, the texture compression utility I used to get the skins in-game isn’t that good, I normally use it for quick, on-the-fly conversions from .bmp to .dds for instant visualisation in LOD Editor and Falcon as I work (because of faster conversion times) and forgot to use the proper one, which has a better compression routine (though it takes longer) and makes the skins look way crisper and more detailed (as they should, obviously):
That’s how they are supposed to look inside the game engine.
OK, back to work now
-
That’s looking very nice buddy.
-
Great job. Looking like a template
-
Very nice work ChrisBV!
Does this mean you’ve abandoned work on the E-3?
-
The E-3 has already been finished and released, with the LODs PumpyHead updated for us. And I believe it was included in the latest BMS official update.

Hi very nice one of my favorite jets check my sig watch the video they look awesome.
Keep at it would love to fly that in F4.
Thankyou very much.
Cheers,

but I’m done with the panelling (hard and boring job, making sure everything fits properly and so on) and detailing of minor parts, so I’m really proud of how it looks so far
If you had asked, I would have given you the template.
Landing gear is super detailed, too, with reworked photo-realistic parts in higher resolution:
Reworked? really? Sorry mate, but to me it looks like the original which is already from real photos.
Say ‘cheers’! Yeah, the canopy still requires some attention, I know. The texmap isn’t very helpful, though:
Using scale model blueprints is not a good idea. They don’t match the real shape. The general shape of the canopy frame is made from photos.
If it ends up with a nice realistic camo scheme, please send it to integrate it into an official update.

Never mind about that, I’m actually enjoying making a template of my own. Thank you for the kind offering, though.

It isn’t. Though I used the original as a guideline (to accurately position and paste photoreal parts), the new textures are in higher resolution and other bits have been completely redone.

I haven’t. I tried to match the actual 3D shape using the texmap. But I still can’t (completely) make out the contours of the canopy frame.

10-4.
Cheers!

I have the stencilling and detailing part pretty much ready, all that’s left (for the template, anyway) is to add the dirt and wear effects (once that’s been taken care of, the skin will really ‘liven up’ when the colour/camo layers are added underneath). You will be able to switch on/off and/or modify the decals as you wish, of course; this is how I like mines
Oh and I also made new skins for AAM rails/launchers (for MICA and Super 530D air-to-air missiles, in addition to the Magic 2 launcher I posted previously), which, naturally, will be automatically available to the other Mirage variants present in Falcon (oh yes, my two-seater is a multirole aircraft )
… and, as you can see, I got the canopy frame thing sorted out.
-
Can’t wait to wear it. Will you be doing any Greek skins?

I don’t think so. But once the template is ready, anyone will be able to easily create his/her own skins! I’m making sure everything is neatly organised into layers for easy re-skinning.
I haven’t had enough time these last couple of days to work on the template/Mirage skin itself, but I did manage to create new textures for the external fuel tanks (for all M2000 versions, of course):
They look really nice in-game

In did …
