[TE] KTO Air 2 Air Training
-
===========================================================================
KTO Air to Air training by “hoover”
for Falcon BMS 4.34OVERVIEW
This tactical engagement (TE) can be used to improve your air to air
skills both in the BVR and WVR regimes. Various threats of increasing
difficulty are waiting for you doing their BARCAPS in 3 MOAs (see the
table below for more details). A little surprise is in store for you
at the “SKY” steerpoint should you have any air to air munitions
left (most probably guns-only at this point into the mission :-))All flights are 2-ships including the one intended for human use (2x
F-16CM-52 out of Seosan). Should you require more human seats, feel
free to modify the flight using a tool such as “Mission Commander” by
Falcas. The TE is intended for 2 human pilots in a training
environment; should you decide to take the AI along as a wingman
ensure to issue frequent “weapons hold” calls as your wingman enagages
the opponents or she / she will go “winchester” rather quickly.Make sure to follow the waypoints or you might find yourself jumped
upon by various flights simultaenously as the AI won’t hesitate to
leave their assigned BARCAP station area if they detect you early on!The steerpoints were tested several times to ensure you’ll face the
threats sequentially, though as we know TEs never work out the same
way twice in BMS (which makes them so interesting to fly repeatedly). Both AWACS (Chalice1) and tanker support (Texaco1) are available to
the south (see the map provided in the archive for their exact
location).REDFOR squadrons:

INSTALLATION
Extract the contents of the archive to your <bms>/Data/Campaign folder
(make sure you don’t extract the containing folder but the contents of
the archive only, or move the files manually afterwards if you
extracted the folder structure as well). You should then find a TE
named “A2A Training” in your “Saved” tab in Falcon BMS.THANKS
Thanks to the BMS DevTeam for keeping the dream alive and to “grisu”
for helping with beta testing this TE.</bms> -
Here are ‘who’ are you, dear Hoover… thanks a lot for sharing this TE and your clear explainations too.
It was never too late to revise your concepts and learn what you supposed having already understood, I mean.
With best regards.
-
Thanks Gianni! I’m only just starting out with learning A2A “properly” so I needed a TE which would give me a reliable context in which to practise in. I’m glad to hear you find it useful!
All the best,
Uwe

why not using the dogfight mode for ACM and BVR?
-
As outlined I wanted to create a repeatable and stable environment in which to practise A2A engagements, possibly formation work and some refuelling if you feel like it. Also it’s quite hard to do a RAMP start in dogfight mode
All the best, Uwe
-
will this TE still be ok to use in v4.34U4?
i need to practice….
John.
-
Yep, it should work fine in 4.34U4 as well.
All the best & have fun!

All the best, UweThat’s just what I’d call an advanced training level indeed, dear Uwe
Couldn’t agree more.BUT… a crazy idea is running straight in my head: and why not to replicate it in another theater, hhmmmm?
With best regards.

It is, dear John, for me too (and I have told all ).
But please take in consideration Stalkers’ POV too, even not at your first attempts… MP flying is just another matter and is the closest level to the ‘real’ thing you can experience nowadays, as you sure already know.Hope this helped in something (I’m learning too).
With best regards.

I think so far for every theater I fly or flew half-way regularly (KTO, Aegean, EMF and Balkans) I created quick AAR training scenarios… I don’t remember sharing them all, though
All the best,
Uwe
