Changing aircraft name, weight, etc
-
All right , so the step 1 is now theorically done .
Now , you should make your new variant recognizable by the game .
How to declare the variant ?
- In Sim< Acdata , you can see a little file named " actypes" . Go inside and at the very end of the list, down below , copy/paste the name of the new variant (for u , M2000CAC ) . Then add +1 at the number you see on the top of the list (I mean : if you see for example “193” , erase and put “194” instead . Add +1 at the number each time you have to add a new variant .
The number is the ACD number that you will call later in FE . It’s the “code” for your new plane .
- Once done , go to Terrdata<object and=“” look=“” for=“” the=“” <strong=“”>xml file named " Falcon4 ACD" and open it .
Find the ORIGINAL ACD number of the plane, meaning the ACD number of the planre that’s the basis of your new variant : you can do it with FE : select the original plane in “Vehicules” . In the upper right corner you’ll see the ACD number . Note it carefully , then go back to Falcon4 ACD .
For example , the M2k-5F ACD number in Korea 80’s is 93 .
-
In Falcon4 ACD , go on the line of the original ACD number (in my example , if you create a variant of 2000-5 , go to the line “93” that we just found thanks to FE , and copy all the block .
As usual , paste it at the very end of the list . Now , you can declare your plane by replacing the old"93" by the last number possible (if the last number of the list is 185 , then replace 93 by 186 ) . -
It’s nearly done now , if you didn’t make mistake . Return in FE and declare formally the new plane :
If all went good , your variant should appears in the “Vehicle” list in FE . Go on it , click on “CT record” and now you can change its ACD number . click on open and make it scroll down until you see the new ACD number you created (186 in my example, you see …) . Click and change it . Be sure it’s saved and close FE .
-
Very last step : Always in FE(re-open it ) , click on the “ACD button” right of the page after clicking in your “Vehicule” . On the new page , go on the line “Aircraft Data” , and select the name of the variant you created (if all went good , a M2000ACA should show up if you scroll down the list) . Select it , which will make it active . That how the ACD number , the plane , BMS and FE are tied together .
-
Enjoy !</object>

Dude I do everythin you just tell but the editor doesn´t open:
2.Opened editor and finded the av8 ACD number (168)
2.I added the new entry on actypes.list AV-8J, the default number at start was 178 so I erased it and changed to 179.
3.Opened the Falcon4ACD File, copy the block of the ACD number168 an droped on the end of the file (before the closing) now changing this 168 to 181 because of the previus block was 180.now when trying to reopen the editor nothing happens, dont know what to do at this point….by the way my falcon bms is 4.34.4
-
when trying to reopen the editor nothing happens
Can you launch the game ?
If not , that’s could be :
1/ You haven’t close all well , which prevent FE to restart
2/ You have messed smg during the copy/paste “back and forth” operation .
You’d be surprised to see how easy it’s to make mistake during this kind of process . Be very careful3/ Also , be aware that what you are doing only work for the current theater ! You’ll have to do it in every theater you want to put your variants . So when you call FE, make sure it’s open on the good theater …
-
Stays on logo…doesnt semms to go on
-
Yup , you have messed smg …
Unfortunately , I can’t do much to help you on this , as I didn’t see what you have done .
I can only tell you that this issue is a synonym of a mistake made during the process(it happened to me quite often at start ) .
-
Dude the thing is that when i set the number to default in actypes.list and erase the new block in flacon4ACD everything goes to normal, then I go to the repeat the first step about the entryes in the actype and then the editor wont launch…dont know if is some kind of protection of the game developers
-
Maybe do I need to edit everything with notepad ++?
-
Good !!! You are lucky : You know where you made something wrong !
dont know if is some kind of protection of the game developers
No , I don’t think …. In my experience it’s a 100% mistake . You are doing/copying smg wrong , for sure .

Maybe do I need to edit everything with notepad ++?
You can , but I don’t use it . It’s not your issue here .
-
Dude I have done everything as you told in previus instructions…maybe Im going to need to reinstall and try again but there´s no way that I made a mistake with this simple process
-
there´s no way that I made a mistake with this simple process
I can assume there’s always a way …
Don’t reinstall, just backup
-
ok dude…ill go back to you with updates
-
Back up, then do it only for the Mirage . Always modify STEP by STEP (plane by plane ) ; easier to point a mistake if you do like this . Once all is ok , you can retrofit another plane . NEVER do multiple things at the same time, it’s “error guaranteed”
-
Dude problem is that when I add the line in the actype then the editor wont start and therefore I need to replace the actype to default and the it starts again….the problem is there…dont know what to do…I really want this!!!
-
Could you copy paste it (the original Actype file) here ? Then , show me on it what you add
- Are you sure you are in the right Theater ? It may be the issue ? In which theater do you want to place your plane ? be sure to edit in the right Theater folder in BMS ; All the editing are specific to a theater . Be very careful of your path …
-
If you give me your email I can share with you the files and check what is wrong……I only noticed that the actype default quanty of aircrafts is 178 meanwhile the falcon4ACD is 180 (the last block ACD number)
-
that´s what im trying to do but benchamark dont seem to allow that
