It seems like they used to be a little crisper…. it might just be that I had been away awhile, and got used to DCS. I made some adjustments and it cleared a lot of the stuff up. They did seriously look cartoonish. It reminded me of Falcon 3.0. I will stop whining. Can’t wait to jump into campaign.

ouch!

Looks great to me, too! Do you have a comparison picture that you expected it to look like?
-
I have flown a couple of missions and it is good. I guess I had just been away awhile. I meant no disrespect by my DCS comment. There is nothing that touches the immersion factor of BMS campaigns. I’m not familiar with reshade and sharpen effects. Is it easily done?

My 2 cents:
Leave everything in Ati control panel at aplication controlled, If there is even the slightest effect there it messes with the game! By leaving everything in app controlled got to graphics setup in BMS and crank everything up! Multisampling,A.Filtering etc! and also set all shaders to on by the BMS config editor!Cheers!

I was playing with graphics settings (on NVIDIA 2070S) and things look really jaggy if I set AA through NVIDIA control panel. The only way I am able to get decent graphics is if I leave it application controlled. It seems that this might not be optimal though. Was anybody able to make the NVIDIA settings work well?

Looks like I answered my own question. Clicking “disable full screen optimization” in the compatibility settings of the Falcon BMS executable did the trick. Now AA kicks in from NVIDIA settings.

I just did a quick (and very unscientific) fps test in the panama FL theater (instant action / moving mud):
o Full screen optimization enabled: 150-160fps
o FSO disabled: 130-140 fpsIs anyone seeing a similar effect?
I had never bothered to check this compatibility setting after “upgrading” to win10 as I haven’t had any issues with BMS so far, so I thought I’d give it a go.
All the best,
Uwe

If it is like it was for me where anisotropic filtering and anti-aliasing is not kicking in or maybe not set to maximum quality, then it makes sense that framerate would be higher.

I get the same thing.

When you do that, like zerg said, GFX settings kick into gear and these require processing power. You could consider FPS ratings with FSO enabled to be incorrect, or skewed. With FSO off, you get full control through the GFX control panel. IIRC, best advice is to set GFX Control Panel AA and AF to “application controlled”, and in BMS set these as desired (typically, jamming them to max unless your PC is a potato). There are a bunch of other quality settings you can play with that BMS doesn’t have in it’s own settings panel, and you can/should adjust these as desired, too, now that they actually work with FSO disabled.

I tried settings both ways. Nvidia settings and BMS settings. I cannot notice any visual difference between either and there is no fps difference. Both seem identical on my setup.

I see a difference. More jaggies in the Nvidia settings. BMS looks smoother and why I use BMS settings.
I’ll only point out one example. There are a lot of them.
Look at the edge of the flame. See how much smoother the BMS settings looks?
-
It looks like heatblur is off on BMS. But it isn’t. I am Sticking with BMS settings.

Hmmmmmmm…
It seems to me that your nVidia settings are giving your viper a higher AOA.
Hope this helps.

I tried Updating nvidia drivers and still have high AOA. I hear it will be solved in 2-3 weeks.
