4.35 Air source knob invisible to those of us without Head Tracking
-
It is visible without head tracking.
For example in 3d snap view 2 times right 2 times down
-
You can easily press the button without seeing it. Hover the mouse pointer over the handle, once it changes into the green pointer, click once. Air source set. There are no other knobs close by that could cause confusion.
-
Just hold down the middle mouse button and slide the mouse forward to see the panel.
Enjoy:D -
Thanks for the advice guys. Been grounded a while and lost touch with some of it.
-
As you can see, there are at least four different solutions.
-
Another solution can be to map the “AIR SRC - NORM” callback to some cryptic key combo in your keyfile (use notepad++ to edit it) in case you’re not sure if you clicked it once, twice or not at all So if you’re unsure, just hit that cryptic key combo and rest assured that your air src knob is set correctly.
All the best,
Uwe

VoiceAttack! You can configure it so it’s like being on the bridge of Star Trek Enterprise. “Computer, activate normal air-source”
[just kidding with you btw … I also fly without head-tracking so I have great empathy for finding way around to some of the switches … but tbh the head-tracking solutions I’ve tried were too jittery for me to be able to click on anything … I prefer mouselook]
I think the middle-mouse-button 6dof-head-movement thing was added sometime around 4.34 era? Or maybe I just didn’t discover it until then… I didn’t fly BMS regularly until around 2019

Even so OT.
20€ DIY head teaching with IR tracker PS3eyecam and Opentrack. No jitter at allGesendet von meinem SM-G930F mit Tapatalk

I agree with oakdesign, a home built tracker (about 10 - 15€ in parts), a used ps3 eyecam with the IR filter removed (about 10€ on ebay) and opentrack as a tracking solution (free & open source) just adds way too much immersion, fun & functionality to BMS and flight sims in general to be ignored! Maybe give it another try and see if it works for you now. You can get a very high quality clip & and the camera as the “DelanClp” package for around 60€ or so, no reason to waste money on more expensive solutions with a worse build quality like TrackIR which sadly seems to have become sort of a household name when it comes to head tracking.
Try the DelanClip, you won’t regret it! Not affiliated with Tomasz, only a very happy customer (and not the only one around here :))
All the best, Uwe

You should get a headteacker ayways. If you manage to steap your phone to your head, it’s even free.
