Installation issue

Here is a good video on installing BMS By Max Waldorf. It is for 4.34, but is still relevant to 4.35.

Interesting thing happened. I tried to reinstall the F4 program and it would not install at all. It just ran endlessly. I suppose I’ll have to buy a working copy after all.

Even so I have my original CD and bocklet back from 1998 was way less pain to spend the 5 bucks and buy and install it from steam

Interestingly enough I was able to download 4.35 but cannot locate where exactly, to download U1 & U2. This is, by far, the most frustrating program to get up and running. Way too many assumptions.
For beginners, do you download with the torrent? Mirror? It comes zipped. Do you unzip or just double click? My unzipped folder is in the torrent file. Somehow, I’m not sure it really belongs there!
Do you manually set up the program folder or is it an automatic feature?
I noticed on an early post that there used to be a download page. There doesn’t appear to be one, at least on my BMS program in Forum or Blog to find downloads. Where are they?

The top three pinned topics in “releases and updates” are the Base, U1, and U2 downloads along with instructions.
I downloaded all three 2 days ago as direct (not torrent) downloads.
Good luck

I suppose I don’t quite know where to look. I can see the one link but it doesn’t download any file. Kindly be more specific. Thanks

My first time trying to install BMS on Windows 10.
Full version installer 4.35.
When I click on Windows pops up a warning dialog “Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device”.
Does it mean I downloaded spyware instead of the BMS?
I downloaded the installation file from the torrent officially linked to in the 4.35 release announcement, but maybe that linked was spoofed? -

I downloaded the installation file from the torrent officially linked to in the 4.35 release announcement, but maybe that linked was spoofed?Windows 10 frequently shows this prompt to users for most all software and has nothing to do with the legitimacy of that software as seen by Windows - it’s a final double-check to users that “Hey, you’re about to install something - are you sure it’s good/safe cuz we can’t be!”
This also should prevent someone being in the same user account as you and installing something (say I was connected through TeamViewer or maybe some other software, that screen would not be visible to me, only on the terminal monitor - to you at your desk).
Sometimes, software (such as an .exe) will have a “blocked” flag inserted by Windows 10, and can be bypassed before executing by right clicking on the .exe and selecting ‘Properties’, then (if it exists) unchecking the box next to ‘Unblock’ – if this is not present, Windows 10 has not inserted a block:
If you verify that the .torrent file you have is the official .torrent released by the BMS team, you can be sure the data it downloads is correct and legitimate since this is how torrents work. You are correct that the actual .torrent file and link to it could be spoofed, however unlikely, and you can verify for yourself before executing the .torrent with your client software by using the following method:

If anyone encounters the reinstallation registry issue simply run regedit.exe and delete the following entry:
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Benchmark Sims
Then run installer again and it will be fixed. Works with BMS 4.35 U2.
