Solved Configuring the Cougar MFDs
-
On BMS 4.34 …
I have an X-55 joystick/throttle combo using Snelle’s keyfile and it works fine.
Today I bought and installed the Cougar MFDs. How do I add their definitions to the existing ones without botching Snelle’s key file ?I tried copy pasting the MFD sections from the “BMS - BasicDX X-55_MFD.key” (in the default installation) into snelle’s file, but the MFD keys remain undefined…
What can I do ?

@pjrebordao - I just plugged mine into a USB hub and assigned their buttons via BMS Setup. Works like a charm. Also - be sure and read the manual to find out how to manually adjust the button brightness using just the buttons.

@stevie same here, only use AL to assign buttons

When you copied the sections from BMS - BasicDX X-55_MFD.key you copied the button numbers as well. It is unlikely they will be the same because your device order is likely different. You need to check the button numbers in BMS UI and change them in the key file to match your device order. Remember when you get the corresponding button number in BMS you -1 for DX button. So button 6 in BMS is button 5 in DX key file.

Thanks all
I found the issue. Turns out, I wasn’t copy pasting everything… at the end of the BMS-Basic file there weew more lines related to the MFDs…
Now everything’s workingPS - I have the MFDs, RWR and DED on a 2nd screen and finding out the correct top left coords for each one is a pain… Any better alternatives out there ?
