<p>Update on this project:<br />1) I created the lower LODs and tried to follow DJ guidelines so he won’t lose any sleep and develop some sort of anxiety syndrome.<br />2) I took the An72 FM and modified some of the data to fit this model and type (aerodynamics and propulsion are still the original An72, hopefully there will be a dedicated, proper FM for this aircraft)<br />3) Minor fixes to the skin, I will try to further improve it when I have more time.<br /></p>

<p>@parislord<br />Thanks for the offer. Older FM files are a pain to update to BMS standard, I wouldn’t find enough expletives. I think it is a good compromise for now, it flies!</p>

<p>Hello Luke,<br /><br />one suggestion : you should make your roundels and markings as alpha channels, for two main reasons :<br /></p><ul><li>Assuming that we commonly use two texture files, one 2048² for the main texture and one 1024² for alpha channel, if resolution is enough for the livery itself on the main file, it may not be enough to get soft curves for a roundel or any other kind of marking. Using your alpha texture, you are more likely to use a +128² square, where you often can’t use more than 64² on the basic livery.</li></ul><p><br /></p><ul><li>Because it’s often difficult to apply a roundel nicely on the main mesh for triangle limitation issues, it’s possible to add an additional mesh with more faces, just over the mesh. Then, applying your alpha texture on it, your model will artificially look more detailed than it is in reality.</li></ul><p><br />Just my 100 yen !<br /><br />Radium<br /></p>
