Solved Any 4.36 changes to gauge extraction?
-
I use Helios (latest iteration) and have identical profiles for 4.35.3 and 4.36 (of course each points to the proper executable) . The 4.35.3 profile runs perfectly smooth for MFDs and gauges (RPM/Fuel Flow/Fuel/Nav compass/AoA/VVI) with no hesitations or stutters. Same profile in 4.36 is a stuttery mess with all extracted gauges and the MFD s and the OSB buttons even have a delayed reaction on the exported screens. Looking at the cockpit itself everything is smooth and external OSB response is instantaneous. If I use RTT for MFD extraction the MFDs perform perfectly but all Helios extracted gauges are choppy and delayed. Are there changes in 4.36 that could be causing this?

4.36 changelog states no sharedmemory changes and even in the Technical Manual there are no reported changes regarding sharedmemory in 4.36. The Helios extraction code is the same regardless of the BMS version. I’d start comparing the two profiles you have for 4.35 and 4.36 to see where differences might be. Use a file compare utility to visually see where things are different. I’d also review how you went about moving files over to 4.36 and pay strict attention to what you can’t bring over and what you can. I’ve just now got my Ice profile ported over to 4.36. It’s not easy and can cause some headaches. My performance is better in 4.36 than in 4.35, very noticeable difference. If you still have issues just use RTT with the Helios profile. Its super simple to enable RTT within the Helios profile.

EDIT: After uninstalling 4.36 completely and doing a vanilla install with just my user.cfg/phonebook/logbook added back it works perfectly! I have 0 idea why, but it does…
@Todd1215 , thank you for the reply. I did ONE change to my perfect functioning Falcon BMS 4.35-12 - GR.hpf profile, which was to select 4.36 and Save it as Falcon BMS 4.36-12 - GR.hpf, as shown in the pic. Using Winmerge I compared the two files, there is only the one difference. Today I am doing a complete uninstall/reinstall of 4.36, will see if that makes a difference. I am using RTT now but the gauges are choppy, and they never were…
