FoxVox Free voice control software for BMS
-
thanks for the preview mate! I’d love to see a new BMS library integrating the new voice commands for 4.36 if that’s not asking too much
All the best,
Uwe

Version 1.6 is now out. Here’s a video detailing a few of the new features. Also, view the changelog here for a complete list and an important note regarding the POV/Hat input for PTT:

@hoover I’m still working on the new commands for 4.36 video and library update as requested, but coming soon!
-
@foxster love your app! I use it every day with zero problems. I haven’t got around to add the new commands of 4.36 yet, but I will soon. I have only 2-3 word commands like GROUND TAXI, but I can speak the full sentence like “whiskey 2-1 GROUND request TAXI to takeoff runway” and it works like a charm! Thank you for a great app and for supporting it! Will the old commands file be compatible with the new version?
-
@danaos75 Yep, absolutely! Still the same at its core. Glad to hear it’s working well for you
-
Guess its finally time to switch from DWVAC :).
When the time comes, where can I find the library for BMS .36?
-
@Fluke I’m going to post a page to share community libraries soon. I’ll put mine up there and anyone else who wants to contribute and post the link for you.
-
@foxster said: I’m going to …share community libraries soon.
THIS is a wonderful thing…! The internet has been the death of community libraries.
Thumbing through the catalogues; the texture of the printed page - these are things which NEED to be shared.
-
@Aragorn The outdoors as well, but I’ll leave that to someone else.
-
I have created a community page for sharing library files now and have posted my basic library updated for 4.36. Everything is BMS default except for the Altitude Hold and Steering Select commands used for auto-pilot which don’t have the keybinds by default (I mapped them to Shifted U and I keys).
The community page is located at https://foxster.itch.io/foxvox-libraries
@Fluke Here you go!
@hoover - I was going to do a training video on the update to show some features, but just haven’t had the time. Hopefully this will do for now…
As there is no set way to do voice control in FoxVox, if anyone wants to share their libraries here (assuming no objections from @Aragorn who might be remiss if too many go missing) feel free to let me know.

.
Oooo - yes, please.
When and if’n you have time, can you - instead of making a vid. which only points out changes - edit / add to your org. video, as in… the first time user joins in with your latest version and is starting completely from scratch.
That would be way cool for n00bs and for lazy, clueless non-n00bs (such as I)
Cheers very much, Foxster-dude.
P.S. If you could do green-screen and add some dinosaur type stuff, that would be - although largely irrelevant - totally cool…!!

Hey foxster,
thanks for the update. I’m getting this error after installing v1.6 and your 4.36 library. The language is listed as english (uk) in foxvox.
All the best, Uwe
-
-
I managed to fix the error mentioned above by installing the
english us
language pack. Following a few reboots the 4.36 library would load fine in foxvox.
Cheers, Uwe
-
@hoover That’d do it
-
It looks like I need to go through the retraining process though as the recognition rate is really bad. I’ve got a bit of an english accent thanks to growing up opposite the local NAAFI in my home town.
It’s probably not possible to “convert” the library somehow so it works with english / uk?
Cheers, Uwe
-
@hoover you shouldn’t have to switch to en-us…just change the library language to the uk? version from the settings cog wheel menu next to the library name. Let me know if that doesn’t work, but you should be able to use it like you did before.
-
So does someone have a ready-to-use script for this with the usual ATC/wing commands?
-
@Logic go to @foxster 's library page that he mentions above : https://foxster.itch.io/foxvox-libraries . My library has all the radio comms from 4.36 with 2-3 keywords each. I like it like that because it is easier to remember. Hope it helps!
-
loading the library worked fine after the english/US language pack had been installed.
Before that I would see the error mentioned above, but now all seems to work fine.
For AWACS I added some more words like “century” and “chavez” which the system now picks up as “sentry” and “chalice”
All the best, Uwe

@hoover
Nice those ones, dear Uwe.
Especially if they are fit, I mean. With best regards.
