Creating comfortable A5-booklets from pdfs under linux
-
Hi all,
just wanted to share 2 lines of code to create nice little (and robust) booklets I use to read the manual or training missions. It’s for linux, for windows there is probably something similar around…The following 2 lines will as an example create a small booklet for the new JTAC training part (great work by the way!). The BMS training manual is called “Training.pdf” in my case
- pdftk Training.pdf cat 236-259 output Trng_236_259.pdf
- pdfbook2 --paper=a4paper Trng_236_259.pdf
You can then print the output file “Trng_236_259-book.pdf” as two-sided (long-edge) landscape as A4. No resorting, no fiddling, just bend them once and connect them via a stapler. Enjoy reading in the bus, making notes, … [yes, I know I’m oldschool, but printed still works better for me :)]
