4.36.2 Fresh install not starting
-
@ricman Maybe try turning off High-res Textures?
Not sure if that will make BMS fit within 2Gb vram… on 4.35 or 4.36. But easy to try.
-
@Obi1 So you assume that we did not have any graphics engines changes between 4.35 and 4.36 …
The DX version is not the only factor…
-
@ricman One quick thing to test could be to delete the d3d11.dsp file located at
\Falcon BMS 4.36\User\Config\d3d11.dsp
It will be recreated when you launch BMS. That can sometimes go bad.
Since you are not even able to get into 2D, do you run with -nomovie option ? I think there were some issues with Win11 and the codecs required
-
@MaxWaldorf Sorry then Max, I was wrong i think now.
Cheers
-
Hi, I don’t see that file at all?
Also, ‘no-movie’ option didn’t work

@MaxWaldorf said in 4.36.2 Fresh install not starting:
I fear your GFX card starts to be very limited with 2Gb and Radeon drivers might not be the most able with DX11 (not the first time I see wierd bugs with radeon drivers)
Thanks Max. Much appreciated. Now to tell my wife ‘I have to upgrade. Honest! Max told me!’
-
@airtex2019 Thanks. No restrictions on 4.35 so I will just play that for now…until my upgrade
-
@ricman Start / Run / DxDiag.exe
What’s the date on your drivers?

Hello , same issue here.
4.36.3 will not launch after splash screen.My setup is: Ryzen 5 5600G , RX5700XT, B450 mobo, 16GB DDR4, Window 11 pro.
OS and drivers updated to the last version available.Worked totally fine since 4.36.1 (skipped 4.36.2 due to work…).
Clean install did not solved… -
Rolled back to Windows 10, (yeeeaah… that was painful…)
Now BMS 4.36.3 works totally fine!
