Saitek X52
-
I have a new computer and haven’t used my X52 in quite a while. It appears the stick portion of the system is inop. Has anyone experienced this and is there a fix?
Thank you -
@Hawkeye55 Check that the cable from the stick to the throttle is set well.

If that doesn’t work, might require a bit of teardown and repair. The socket (female end) of the link cable can become unseated or the solder can break - would inspect its leads and verify connectivity. Also would check the cable itself, in case the pins disconnected from the wires they lead. Worst case scenario, the socket(s) could need replacing. These are not proprietary but are common connectors often used for MIDI or video - I believe this type is the MDIN-6 or Mini 6-pin DIN.
When my (non-pro) X52 link cable or sockets started going out, I decided I’d had enough of that fiddly cord, having had to wiggle or replug it during a game or sim flight was getting old fast. I threw money at the problem and bought an X52 Pro instead of repairing the non-pro X52 which is now retired to a box on my shelf - a project for another day.
Best wishes and good luck!

Thank you all. As I am not versed in the teardown and repair I think I will try the Thrustmaster as the X52 is out of my price range.
