Ice’s Falcon BMS Profile Updated for BMS 4.37

Thanks @linknet. Looking forward to the update.

@Atlas @Todd1215 many thanks for your advice with the windows scaling issue. That helped, problem solved. Still got some minor issues with helios, but I am working solving these…

Hi all, unfortunately I have another issue where I need help:
Unfortunately nearly all of the switches and knobs in the profile don’t synchronize with the corresponding DX-Buttons. (It concerns a Winwing Orion 2 throttle base, but I guess this is not the key here? )
Acutally the only switch that I could identify that synchronize with the DX-Button is the gear handle. All the rest does not syncronize which is quite annoying.Thanks in advance for every hint that leads to a solution!
-
and another problem perhaps someone knows it: For unknown reason the HMCS is set to on (and weirdly is aligned already) at some point after starting taxiing after cold start. This is indeed very weird. Anybody knows that pronlem and has a solution?
Sorry for all the questions…

@Markusle
The majority of buttons and switches in BMS are one way only with no feedback on their positional status. So if your DX-Button sends a callback command directly to one of these controls in BMS then Helios won’t receive any position notification. This is exactly the same as clicking on these controls in the BMS 3D view, there won’t be any feedback. -
@Markusle
It’s not a problem, that’s the way it’s designed. I prefer the HMCS to turn on automatically, so it’s set to turn on when the landing gear is raised. If you don’t want that then just edit the HMCS knob inputs in the profile. -
Hi, can anyone help me please. This is great and I am trying to setup the profile. All MFD etc seem to be working fine, but the Steerpoints information on the Left and Right Kneepad for the default kneepads are always blank. I have checked there seems to be a Briefing file created.
I have noticed in the ‘Control Center problems’ log, this statement and not sure if this is a problem or not and how to get around it.
ERROR|GadrocsWorkshop.Helios.HeliosProcessControl.ProcessControlInterface|Profile attempted to start a process ““C:\Bin\DataAutoUpdate.exe”” but this action is not permitted on this machine|
Thanks

Have you carried out this procedure from the Setup Guide?

@linknet Hi, thanks for that and coming back, I missed that point, it seems to not have that error anymore in the log files so 1 step closer My kneeboards for the steerpoint is still blank though.
What I do:
- Start Profile in Helios Control Centre
- Launch Falcon (not from Profile because I get an AutoIt Error saying: Array Variable has incorrect number of subscripts or subscript dimension range exceeded) - see ‘Control Center.txt for the AutoIt Error’ below.
- Goto Training Mission (Take-Off for example)
- Select Briefing… Print
- Press TakeOff
- Wait for Cockpit to Start
- Press Reset in Helios Control Centre
- Take-Off
- Click on SteerPoints Screen
- Kneeboards Open with Steerpoint Table on Right and Pilot Roster on Left.
- Table is Blank.
See the Control Centre.txt at bottom for the full output based on launching Falcon externally to the Profile.
I have checked the Briefing Text file is there at ‘C:\Falcon BMS 4.36\User\Briefings’, and the Steerpoints do update in the CPD view correctly. It is just the kneeboards.
Thanks

This post is deleted! -
@linknet Could it be my resolution, I am only using 1366x768 at the moment until I get a better screen.
-
@linknet I am also not using the Key file yet, until I get my flight stick… this week
Not sure if that would impact this.

No that won’t be a problem. The ControlCenter.txt is fine and doesn’t help with the AutoIt errors. So perhaps could you delete that particular post to save clogging up the thread and then I’ll have a think about the kneeboard problem.
-
@daz Can you post a copy of the PathNames.ini file located in the C:\Bin folder?
-
[FALCON_BMS_PATH]
Path= “C:\Falcon BMS 4.36”
[PILOT_CALLSIGN]
Callsign= “Viper” -
@daz The AutoIt error on trying to start BMS from the profile is due to a fault with the PathNames.ini file. Just replace it with the original file from the download. That should fix the array errors.
Now to determine why there are missing steerpoints I need a copy of the following file:
C:\Falcon BMS 4.36\User\Briefings\briefings.txt
It needs to be hosted somewhere so that I can download it, pasting it into this forum just seems to screw up the formatting. -
@linknet ok thanks, thats fixed that one so I can open BMS from the profile now.
I have uploaded my briefing.txt to https://www.mediafire.com/file/2to5ndxfahz0x2h/briefing.txt/file
Thanks

Strange, that works perfectly:
-
@daz Try deleting the Auto_Left.png and Auto_Right.png files in Documents\Helios\Images\FalconBMS Images 4.36\Kneeboards and see if they get recreated when you next run the profile. Auto_Right.png should contain the steerpoints.
-
@linknet Hi, when I run the profile, it always generates a blank Auto_Left and Auto_Right in
C:\Users\Admin\Documents\Helios\Images\FalconBMS Images 4.36\Kneeboards
I checked just to make sure and the briefing file is at:
C:\Falcon BMS 4.36\User\Briefings
Thanks
