Solved 4.37 keeps resetting DeviceSorting.txt

I need to change the order of the devices to properly assign the axis and buttons - however every time I restart BMS it reverts to the original configuration and shows “Keyboard” as primary device.

@CookieMonster I’ve solved this issue by usimg the new BMS Launcher to set my axis and keymappings. Works perfectly.

@William Worked, thank you.

Not solved. DeviceSorting.txt DOES still reset. And it looks like it’s the new Launcher that is resetting it, which defeats the point of DeviceSorting.txt even being there in the first place.

Certainly the Launcher has to write all of [ BMS-Auto.key, DeviceSorting.txt, and some cfg entries ] all at once – they are all logically coupled.
(The numbers in the .key file are just numbers… meaningless, without some indication of which device they belong to… and how many buttons-per-device etc. Hence DeviceSorting.txt and the g_nButtonsPerDevice/g_nHotasPinkyShiftMagnitude cfg values)
Usually the stick with pitch/roll axes is the top line in DeviceSorting, and therefore also the first block of dx-button numbers. Is the Launcher getting that wrong somehow? Can you share your DeviceSorting.txt here?

Alternate Launcher is the reasons.
Personally, I’ve reverted to the legacy one located in:
… :\Falcon BMS 4.37\Launcher.exe
If you really want to use the Alternate Launcher, you can also check the option “Launch without any setup override” but in that case, it present no advantage, requires to clear a warning message … and add layer on lyer with options on options … etc … all in all, it make things more complicated than before (in my opinion).

I just hope for a"VR" button on the legacy launcher (like the 32 vs 64bit in the past) and/or the ability to have two shortcuts (VR/no VR).
Ideally, everything should be done in game.
