Idle Cut-off/Afterburner Sound Location
-
I am looking to raise the relative volume of the idle cut-off sound for use as an afterburner indicator but have been unable to locate the sound file or its record in the sound table. Does anyone know the location or name of this sound? Thanks!
Loving 4.37 so far, thanks to all the BMS team and amazing community!

@moshpit I don’t know how to do it in BMS directly. I use BMS Burner, which still works great and has both visual and audible cues.
If you choose to try it, note that it looks for BMS directory in the registry at
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Benchmark Sims\Falcon BMS 4.35\baseDir
. Changing or setting that to the 4.37 install location saves you some trouble. -
@moshpit yes there is a way. I have also raised it a bit. AB detent sound is the push button sound. Just go to the Data\Sounds folder, take the a backup of the file F4SndTbl.textproto file. Then open the file and look for 3 lines with “cockpit\pushbutton” . Then increase the number on max_vol from 208 to whatever you want. I have it at 1000. The sound you are increasing is also the push button sound. So you will be increasing the sound of push buttons in the cockpit. But they are only on the test panel I believe. If you also have other theaters installed you have to change the relevant file on their data\sound folder too.
