[VR] Need help to make it not CTD.
-
Yes currently using that one, I tried lkg release, and now i’m using the beta. I got not pink screen and a CTD after pushing the “contact departure key”.
Don’t know if Seifer wants another WER… -
@jvp89 im on vacation this week, but maybe @Tumbler31 can take a look.
The user config changes not being applied is news to me, though.
-
Am I doing something wrong to BMS not apply the user config file?
Another CTD, further inflight. but I started in takeoff position. -
Made something drastic… change directly the Falcon BMS config file to force the changes…
-
@jvp89 I don’t know how or why this is happening, but I think it’s affecting almost everyone, at least those coming from 4.36…
tbh I don’t even understand what it means for Config.exe to be pointing at Launcher.exe but I suppose it tries to find the cfg file relative to that location.
-
@jvp89 I had this path… E:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Falcon 4.0\Falcon4.exe way way out!!! thanks! finger crossed
-
@jvp89 truly bizarre … idk if you have BMS installed anywhere near Steam stuff … or anywhere under C:\ProgramFiles or C:\Users… but if so, you’re probably going to have a lot of problems.
BMS really wants to be in a top-level directory all its own.

@airtex2019 I have it on a ssd only and steam in other disk…

Applied/removed a couple patches no issue… I don’t really use F4Patch anymore.

Hello, another day another try and another 2 CTDs.
First one from ramp till takeoff after tower report to change to dep… and crashes. the other starting at takeoff and CTD by the time of the 3rd strpoint. As I wrote above I believe I have a very good setup. and I don’t have stutters for the moment and the pink screen are gone. before Its CTD its smooth. I putted all the slides down and reduced all I could. Objects, AA, and the others that people told me to do. I Still don’t know for sure if BMS is applying the lines in FALCON USR CFG…If anyone of you could help. I’m almost willing to wait until the U1 comes out and then try again.
dump from the CTDs: https://we.tl/t-MNwFYlPqi5
as Seifer said if you please can take a look @Tumbler31.
Thank you.

if it helps to eliminate some doubts, you can add some very-visible-and-unambiguous things to ensure they’re being read from the cfg file properly. some ideas … put these at the bottom of your ‘falcon bms user.cfg’
set g_bNoRPMOnHud 0 set g_bBrakeOnHud 1 set g_bShowFrameRateDefault 1

hello, I thought that I had my problem at least controlled, I updated the Nvidia Drivers and The CTD looks fixed. Had a couple of successful missions, but in the middle of the action another one. I had 2 or 3 times the computer hard resetting but I believe BMS is not the culprit(3090ti and yes a 1000w psu… hopping that’s not a faulty one… brand new.)
If anyone could help me find the reason of it please, i’m sending the link for the dump file. -
Hey, update. For now it helped and looks like the CTD is gone for good. I went radical and change the ram speed to stock 2400mhz and undervolt my 5800x3d and decrease 100mhz in the 3090ti GPU and MEM. I have been using AA at max and OBJ at max and it keeps stable.
Thanks to all with the inputs!
Cheers!
