Korea '80s Theater - discussion

AI Fighter is too passive …
-
I cannot do anything with AI. I can set as good ATO roster and missio type and target types as possible but AI is out of my scope…
BTW last time I tried about 8 enemy AI engeged my flight and we were shot down within a minute. I made an ACMI record, but I do not why I deleted it. When I will be return to this project I will make some preview shot. Here are some older.
MiG-23 defeats an AIM-9M with flares.
Second launch by me + an AI missile. One was defeated from these two.
Result.
Just imagaine how big dogfights are in campaigns with these missiles. You have to work for the victory. Mostly I flew only 2-3 missions, but dogfights between 4-8 jets is very typical.
-
The AIM-9M is easier to defeat than the R-73.
-
In my MOD or in stock DB? Because in stock DB both literally immune to flares… In my DB AIM-9M have better seeker values as R-73 but they are quite close.
-
I am not sure what DB I’m using, but AIM-9M usually misses, when I use R-73… it usually hits.
-
Maybe because most of OPFOR AC drops flares in pairs but part of blue jets drops only one. Do you have enogh big samle do do a stat…?
-
You’re not satisfied with anecdotal evidence from a fellow hardcore simmer?
Here are the stats in my dat files:
AIM-9LM AA11(R-73M1)Gimbal Angle Limit (deg) # Gimbal Angle Limit (deg)
40 67
Gimbl Ang Rate Lim (deg/sec) # Gimbl Ang Rate Lim (deg/sec)
25 60
Guidance Delay # Guidance Delay
0.5 0.4
Seeker Type, Version # Seeker Type, Version
0 1 0 9
You see the R-73 has better tracking.
-
No offense, these values are not used… Gimbal data are in DB not in dat file.
-
So simdata folder is useless?
-
Partially. Many of data are stored there but not these. I have to say Falcon has very idioitc data structure…

Please tell, where it is in DB i can tune - flares(chaff) reaction for seekers.
shown in the picture, this is it? -
What i’d really love is some checksumming for every user’s DB when flying MP

shown in the picture, this is it?Are we speaking about SARH, ARH or IR missiles? Flare sensitivy is stored in ICD files, but ICD-missile connection is stored in dat files. Dat files are also linked with missile CT…
ARH missiles use their RCS chaff value, but all missile have a general modification depending on distanca. You can find this in RP5 manual.

I just checked, it seems to me that tracking capabiliy is not modeled in BMS4. I locked two different target with +45 deg and -45 deg direction within a second and the missile seeker instantly locked on the targets.

I am writing that right now……:-)

Can someone just confirm that to ensure I don’t lose existing campaigns etc. etc., all I need to copy is the original Data/Sim folder to be replaced when I’ve finished flying Korea 80s. Not quite sure then what the Korea 80.exe actually does (and presumably what it does doesn’t prevent you from flying the other theatres as per normal?)
-
Yes, you won’t lose anything, the whole theater is separated except the \sim folder, it is shared for all theaters currently.
-
Is it compatible with the Block 40 HUD mode or does it cause crashes?
-
No. I won’t crash because simply does not add anything to DB. The installer swap the stock DB with another which contains the new pit. This is a huge problem. As long as this won’t happen the installer is cannot be used for any 3rd party theater and if the stock DB also will tweaked…
I plan to ask the creator to integrate his cocpit into the DB. I just have to find the creator.
