FYI: The sa-10 WEZ is 40 miles, sA-10 routinely engages at 50+ miles. We’re making our own PPT edits to include this fix, plus some named objectives.

OK I just saw I didn’t clone flights… so added a clone of that. Still no dice 😞

I then did “Test database” and saw this:

So i cloned AC data for the f16 B32 EAF… but i cant’ seem to change the vehicle record to point to the new AC data 😞

    • What are the steps to add a new AC using the editor?

I’m simply trying to clone the F-1632 EAF and give it a copy of it’s radar which shows up as a mig-29 on the RWR.

      I have:
      1. Copied the vehicle
      2. Copied the AN/AGP-68(V)4 and changed its RWR sound and symbol to 102 and 46, which is what the MIG29 radar uses. Problem: if I click “ACD usage” the box is blank.
      3. Made the new copy use the new radar above
      4. Copied the f1632 EAF squadron, and replaced all elements in the squadron with the cloned aircraft

I then mass replaced all F1632 with my new squadron type using MC. The squadrons do not appear on 2d as selectable, although if you load in, you see them fragging flights, and can even fly as them.

They seem to still have a F16 RWR spike.

    • RE: Taiwan 4.35.3 (compatible with bms 4.35u1)

oops yes I meant HQ-16. HQ-16 is currently patriot right now. Very confusing because it will show lethal inner ring at very far ranges. Can we please change that to 17 on the RWR?

Another feedback is that its currently pretty impossible to fight the J-20, usually you cant get any lock until 10 miles or less. I’d imagine that you would be able to lock on further out than that (20-25 miles?). There’s no info out there about the efficacy of stealth aircraft (its all classified) but i’d imagine just based on physical properties of radar cross section you’d be able to get a lock closer. Currently there is no way to attack a J-20. We had 1 J-20 kill 5 of us in a flight and we all had tally on it but couldn’t get locks.

Should we make the HQ-16 based on SA-17 RWR? According to Wikipedia is based on a BUK originally. Right now it shows up as a patriot

We found a brutal bug tonight while playing Taiwan. The JF-8F will display on the RWR as an f-16. We checked in the editor and its radar (PS 37) uses the same RWR symbol (37) as the AN/APG-68. This resulted in 3 of us getting smoked to ambush front quarter aspect PL-12 shots
      😞

Apparently it uses the Type 1492 radar - but i couldn’t find much about it. Recommend we use a 29radar on RWR?

    • RE: GBU-15 effective weapon ?

      @mj3437:

Which aircraft can use these? A google search doesn’t mention F-16.

F-16B (was used in combat, not a trainer) in the IAF. They can use it. Might be in some other blocks.

      Also F-15E.

The GBU-15 is an incredible DEAD weapon if you use it correctly. It takes more practice than something like the Delilah, but is one of the only safe ways to hard kill a SAM on flat open ground in the 80s - mid 90s.

Here’s a video of us DEADing Cairo in 80s ITO using GBU-15 and reliably getting ~21 mile hard kills on SA2/3:

Alternative is to do really risky profiles.
