Tacview hdg offset problem with modified theater.map
-
The original “Theater.map” file included in the “Nordic” theater v4.37 does not include the necessary data to support native Tacview (Supporting native Tacview in BMS 4.36.1 | Falcon BMS Forum (falcon-bms.com)). Any acmi show all flights over Korea instead of over Scandinavia.
I followed the instructions in the “supporting native…”-post mentioned above. To the end of the map file I added a 4 byte set to float32 value of 20000, and four 8 bytes values set to the double values 10.0, 33.85, 63.12 and 72.35. These values are from the Tacview’s Data-Falcon4Theaters.xml file.
The generated acmi files using this modified map file show all flights in the correct position on the globe, but the heading of all aircraft has an offset of approx. 30 degrees to the left.
If I use the original theater.map file and generate a vhs-file instead of acmi-file by using “set g_bTacviewAcmi 0”. Convert this vhs to acmi manually via “Tacview.exe -Falcon4Theater:“Nordic” -Open:“TAPE0000.vhs” -Save -Quiet –Quit”. Then the generated TAPE0000.zip.acmi shows both correct position and heading.
I’m scratching my head here. Is there a problem in my modified theater.map file? Or is the problem somewhere else. Usually, the source of most my problems is located somewhere between my monitor and my chair
All my testing has been done by using TE I created. I have been sitting in a parked F-16 while the AI flies the exact same route in each test.

Any suggestions?
