Campaign/Sim Engine Question
-
Hi there.
A friend and I a while back toasted the end of Falcon BMS. We thanked the developers for many happy memories. “RIP falcon” we cheered and “thanks” as we threw back a shot of whiskey. Now you guys bring it back with VR and then post a bloody road map!! dammm you!!! dam dam dam you!!!
Awesome work.
As I get back into it and start planning my flights again within a campaign, I wanted to ask:
I am planning multiple flights to hit an airbase at precise timings.
Does the campaign/sim engine look at this and decide what enemy to respond to it. ie. “it” knows that I am sending “X” amount to hit something so plans to send out “X” fighters to respond based on the numbers I send to the target
OR -
Does the campaign/sim engine respond in real time dependant on if the aircraft is spotted?
ie. the engine will scramble appropriate number of jets because my friendly forces were spotted 30 miles out as an example.
If the real time response then its worth me trying to get the jets in low without being spotted and plan it a little more creatively.
But I cant help feel that it is sending out a set number of jets knowing what I have in mind because it is there within the planning phase.
I would like to think that tactics really work rather than a predetermined set of instructions.

Yes, it reacts. Even the stone age version of any Falcon did it.
It is enough to fly a strike mission near to the Chinese border.
If you fly at 200 ft to the target you won’t see any interception.
Fly at 20-30k ft, you will meet interception if the opponent has enough fighters. -
Hi Molnibalage. “the database man” as I reffered to you as long ago!!! still hanging around here I see!
(i can almost see you frowning -looking at someone and saying: “who is this guy?”)
Thanks. Yes. tested and i got the enemy AI to react differently by tweaking the mission. Good to see!!

@molnibalage
By experience, if the opponent has an AWACS airborne, the flight will be spotted even on a low level ingress.
Is it normal to you or was I not sufficiently low (ie 500 ft instead of 200 ft) ? -
