Moved to DK, Suggestions for where to buy?
-
Greetings,
We made the big move and are now in Denmark. I am looking for good places to buy the various computer components I may need. I need to start by getting a Mobo and chipset, which all seem reasonably priced at proshop (dot) dk, are there anywhere else I might want to look, I could also use a good dealer in used and refurbished computer parts, controllers, etc. Thanks. -
Welcome! Sorry about the weather though, not very good lately.
A couple of shops I use are
fcomputer.dk
komplett.dk
coolshop.dkAnd first and foremost, use pricerunner.dk for price comparisons. For 2nd hand hardware the platform dba.dk is the best option, but it does not always have that much to choose from.
Amazon.de is also an option, although they add extra VAT when shipping to DK so pay attention to that.

@jayb
Thank you for this. And thank you for your quick reply, I was just sitting down to price a few things out. The weather doesn’t bother me a bit though I imagine the rain gets old after a while. Such a beautiful country so far. I will check these out. dba seems like a great place to find a deal but like you said the options are limited.Two more questions

Is there any place to get 3-d printing done, I am torn between buying a test bench and downloading the printing for one and having it printed out.

I live down in Grasten, is there any advantage to buying in Germany at all?

I am not familiar with good 3D printing options from Danish shops, although I did look into it once for a throttle detent but that seemed very pricey.You basically live in the border region with Germany. People down there can do a lot of shopping in Germany, there are big border shops just a few kilometers down from the border where you will save 20-30% on regular household items. And we in the rest of the country are quite envious of that!
But for computer hardware, I am not sure how the proximity to Germany helps. Maybe you could pick up items in Flensburg and save the VAT ? The German market has a better second hand market for hardware, I would recommend idealo.de to look for new items but also used
